I'd consider this another EXTREMELY successful week. I ran another 32 mile week and my body is feeling great!!

Yesterday's 14 mile run was one of the hardest, wettest, windiest runs I've ever done, but I would say it was definitely the most rewarding!! {In my mind I kept saying, "This is the WILDEST RIDE IN THE WILDERNESS."} It was supposed to be extremely rainy yesterday, the weatherman was calling for thunderstorms around noon, so I knew I needed to get out the door by 9 to beat the worst of it. When I left it wasn't too bad, but it quickly made a turn for the worst. I was running INTO 30 mph winds for a lot of my run (not gusts, but constant wind), and when I was running along the beach those winds were whipping stinging sand into my face and covering my body. I would venture to say some of those 11 minute miles were some of the hardest ones I've ever done (who knew I would expend so much energy on an 11 minute mile - a few times I felt like I wasn't even moving forward due to the wind). At points during the run it was just a straight downpour. While I was running it, it was tough, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't help but smile and think "I am so B.A.". My Garmin died around mile 13.5 which was at 2:08, so I would assume I finished the full 14 miles around 2:12, which is NOT BAD considering the elements!! (I was actually going out thinking I would try to run 10 minute miles, but with the weather I wanted to get it done as quickly as possible. That means I started out with some 9 minute miles and then, unfortunately, due the weather, some miles at 11 minute pace were as fast as I could possibly go...)

How were your workouts this past week?

Great job with your workouts Carlee, especially the run yesterday. I had a tough week after returning home with a sore throat and cold from my trip to Florida for the Princess Half/Glass Slipper Challenge.
