Bedford marks mat anniversary

TEMPERANCE - Bedford's 50 years of wrestling will be celebrated Saturday during the Bedford Invitational.

Wrestlers, grapplerettes, trainers and managers from 1958-2007 have been invited to participate.

A ceremony honoring state champions and teams will be held between the consolation finals and finals - sometime between 4 and 5 p.m.

The program's first coach, Clayton Kelley, and the second coach, Bill Regnier, will attend along with current coach Denny Brighton.

A 77-minute video of wrestling history will be playing and a special program will be available. Spectators can vote on which of Bedford's past teams is the best of all time. The Mules have won 11 state team titles.
