Concordia goalkeeper Kelly Wurzell (Jr. - Lambertville, Mich.) was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's defensive player of the week after guiding the Cards to a 2-1 record moving their overall record to 4-4. Wurzell, Concordia's all-time shut-out leader, helped lead the Cards to a 5-0 win over Tri-State University and a 2-1 double overtime win over Davenport University. The win over the Panthers was Concordia's first conference win of the season. Wurzell also had 13 saves in Concordia's 1-0 overtime loss to conference leader Aquinas College. Kelly Wurzell is the first Cardinal soccer player to receive the honor from the conference this season.
