Friday Favorites

I may be getting ready to start an EPIC running weekend (our official start time for #Ragnar4Rett will be at 10am this morning and we are hoping to finish by 3pm on Saturday afternoon before I jump on a redeye flight and head to the East Coast so I can run the Boston Marathon on Monday morning), but I still have a few favorites to share with you. Here goes:

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive - Saturday, May 11, 2019

I know this is almost a month away, but I got an email about it from our local Food Bank that I've volunteered with in the past and thought I would give you the heads up. Hopefully you will be able to place a bag of nonperishable food items next to your residential mailbox for postal workers to pick up on Saturday, May 11, 2019. (Shoot, between now and then, maybe you'll consider grabbing an extra item or two from the grocery store so you have some extra to give.) Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers, who participate in the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation. The drive has delivered more than one billion pounds of food the past 25 years. Carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters. To donate, just place a box or can of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your letter carrier delivers mail on the second Saturday in May. The carrier will do the rest. The food is sorted, and delivered to an area food bank or pantry, where it is available for needy families. With 42 million people facing hunger every day in America, including 13 million children, this drive is one way you can help those in your own city or town who need help.

Wild Earth Day Collection from Keep Nature Wild

You may remember that I was part of the Wild Keepers program last year through Keep It Wild (they just recently changed their name to Keep Nature Wild, but it is the company). They recently released some new gear for Earth Day and I am in love. I am pretty sure I need at least two of the t-shirts and maybe both canvas tote bags. I know Earth Day isn't normally a day you buy presents for folks, but if you happen to be in the gift giving mood, I'll gladly accept your generosity ;)

Left: Give a Dam Tee / Left Center: Don't Be Trashy Tote / Right Center: Anti Litter Social Club Tote / Right: Don't Be Trashy Tee

And although this tote isn't in the Earth Day Collection, I still need it... especially since plastic bags are banned in CA!

ROADiD Spring Sale

If you don't have a ROADiD yet, now is the time to grab one! Next week the prices are dropping for their annual Spring Sale, April 16-18. The purpose is not to move product, but to lower the price barrier so they can provide peace of mind and empowered adventure for even more people. All IDs will be discounted at some of the steepest rates of the year. It’s their last site-wide sale until Fall, so don't miss out! 72 HOURS ONLY! (PS My ambassador discount cannot be used in tandem with other offers, but I'd still highly recommend you take advantage of this sale because these deals are crazy!)

The Last Mile | Strava

If you are a runner or cyclist, there's a good chance you use Strava to record your workouts. Strava is a social fitness network, that is primarily used to track cycling and running exercises, using GPS. I signed up for the platform a could years back when Strava and lululemon teamed up for a 40|80 challenge (running 40 or 80km during a specific time frame to score a prize). Anyway, they recently released a challenge where if your LAST mile of a race is your FASTEST mile, they will donate to a youth running organization in your honor. How awesome is that?! Every racer has their own goals, but when the homestretch comes into view, we all dream of the same thing: Finish strong. Finish fast. Sign up for The Last Mile and and if your last mile split is your fastest, you’ll unlock a $10 donation to youth running organizations around the world (up to a combined total of $50,000). You can read all about it and sign up for the challenge HERE. You have until June 30th to run a half or full marathon and make your LAST MILE happen so get after it!
