Music Soothes

I heart music! I love singing! I love dancing! I love making regular conversation into song!

**NOTE: THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I AM GOOD, THAT PEOPLE LIKE TO LISTEN TO IT, OR THAT I HAVE TALENT OF ANY KIND...

Anyway, the reason I wanted to write this post was because of music. I got my iPod Shuffle last week. I got music downloaded on to it and started using it when I am running starting last Friday - meaning I ran Friday, Sunday and today with my music going. IT HAS MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE!! I don't know if it is because I am now running to the beat, or a faster pace so I am cruisin'... Or if it is because since I have the music going I can't hear my breathing and am not focused on my deep breaths... Or if it is just music is my speed drug :) Whatever it is, I LIKE IT!! Again, I haven't been keeping good time of my running, but when I started out I think it was taking me about 20 minutes to do the 1.25 miles (remember, I hadn't run in like a year), then the following week I was probably down to about 16 or 17 minutes and now with my music I am breaking 12 minutes!! I don't think I could run a full race at this speed, but it is nice to know that I am running under a 9:30 minute mile - and after training for less than 3 weeks... The two CDs that I have found have helped me to cruise have been K'naan - The Dusty Foot Philosopher and John Butler Trio - Grand National.

I hope music soothes your soul like it does mine :)
