Day 5 of #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas

Thanks so much for stopping by my corner of the InterWebs today. Whether you've been following along on my journey since I started this blog OVER TWELVE YEARS AGO or you stopped by for the first time today - WELCOME!

And no matter how long you've been visiting, you picked an AMAZING time to pop in because we're celebrating my #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas {read my post announcing this series HERE if you don't know what I'm talking about}.

Today is Day 5 of my #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas! And the prize today is pretty FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC! Although, to be honest, all of the prizes are absolutely AMAZEBALLS! If I could enter my own giveaways I'm pretty sure I would enter each and every one of them in this series (and somehow rig it so I'd win) because they are just that AWESOMESAUCE.

Up for grabs today are: 5 Rolflex PROs.

For today, DAY FIVE, five winner will be randomly selected, each winning Rolflex PRO.

If you've been around my corner of the InterWebs for any period of time, you know I am just as serious about recovery as I am about training. Rest and self-care are part of the program! And I'm always looking for ways to aid my running, which could be anything from a new stretch to a strength training workout. That's where the Rolflex™ comes in!

Source

Think of Rolflex™ as the foam roller re-imagined. It was designed to provide an easy way to amplify pressure using the power of leverage to effectively apply pressure anywhere on the body, as needed. The intuitive design of the Rolflex™ allows users to relieve the tight overused muscles that come from doing any sport, job or activity. It was specifically designed based on the anatomy and biomechanics of the human body. The unique shape provides awesome leverage with laser-focused pressure without restricting motion, creating an unparalleled therapeutic release of tension.

Around the time I learned about the Rolflex™, the hubby was looking for something to help his weary climbing muscles. It's difficult to use something like The Stick one handed when trying to roll out your forearms (I'm not always up or available when he gets home from the gym). This has been a Godsend to him and he is STOKED to have been introduced to it! (Although he loves using it for his arms, neck and traps, he recently finished his THIRD marathon and has also really appreciated using it on his calves, quads and IT band. #AndHeSaysHeIsntARunner ;) )

I personally love using the Rolflex™ in conjunction with my foam roller, but I could totally see it being a one stop shop. Currently I use my roller on my quads and IT band, but then use the Rolflex™ to get more targeted areas like my calves and feet. I've found it easier to use since you don't have to hold your bodyweight up with your arms and simply pinch the contraption to get more leverage and precision. You can really dig in and get those spots that need the attention/ focus.

PS Can we talk about how easy it is to pack this when you are on the go?! No need for a mat to lay on,
just grab the cinch bag and go! And you can do most of the options either seated or standing - SCORE!

The website is super helpful. The Rolflex™ has user guides with suggestions on how to use it for different muscles, but the website allows you to click on specific areas on the body you want to target and will pull up instructional videos.

Because both the hubby and I have found it super easy and convenient (although, let's be honest, just like with the foam roller, we tend to have a love/hate relationship with it), we have both been using it very frequently. We will reach for it so we can randomly use it while sitting in the living room watching football or throw it in the car when we head out for a morning run. The hubby even has talked me into allowing him to have one that stays his climbing gear all the time.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but the Rolflex™ in my pictures is slightly different from the new pictures on the website - and that's because it has recently been updated! When we first came across the brand, they offered an "Original" and "Pro" model. The Pro model had new dual stability rollers (as opposed to the single support roller) to allow for even deeper trigger point therapy and more balanced approach with pinpoint accuracy than the Original—relaxing muscles and alleviating pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. The Pro’s ergonomic design enables you to effectively self-massage over nearly every muscle of the body, including hard-to-reach areas such as elbows and knees. The newest update (with the yellow therapy roller) is 30% more dense/ firm than the prior green roller. You can still deliver a softer self massage by applying less pressure, but you can really dig in deep to get great trigger point work with the harder roller.

I love spreading the word about local companies (they're located just up the street in San Marcos), but it's even better when they have a product that I believe in and stand behind! Both the hubby and I are stoked to have found Rolflex™ and I know our bodies are better (and much happier) for it as well! We will definitely be using it for years to come.

Entering this giveaway (along with the other #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas giveaways) is easy-peasy! Simply use the Rafflecopter widget listed below on the giveaway blog post and cross your fingers. Some entries are available daily so I'd HIGHLY recommend entering early and often. (Shoot, I would even go as far as suggesting you set an alarm to remind you to come back to this page every 24 hours so you can take advantage of as many entries as possible!)

a Rafflecopter giveaway Now, the nitty gritty details... All entries are verified, so please make sure to do whatever the required action for the entry is or it will be disqualified. I would hate for you to miss out on winning due to a technicality, so if you are going to click the option, make sure you do whatever it asks or a new, random winner will be selected in your place.

Also, this giveaway will last seven days, with the random winners being picked (and notified) on the eighth day. The winners will have 24 hours to reply to the congratulations email from me to claim their prize. That means, for this giveaway, it will end on December 11th at 11:59pm PST and the FIVE winners will be chosen on December 12th.

And, finally, the winners must have a US mailing address. International shipping seems to cost an arm and a leg these days, and customs is a major headache, so to make it easier (and cheaper) on the brands who have offered up their products, the winners must live in United States of America (or at least have an address we can ship to within the US).

With that said, BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERS! And don't forget to stop back tomorrow to see what is up next in my #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas (I promise you do NOT want to miss out on any of these giveaways!)!

After a long run or hard workout I do a lot of stretching. I'm trying to dind the right roller, I had a foam roller that worked well for a while and then has really stopped helping as much as it used to.

I recover by stretching and staying hydrated. When I feel it is needed, I use a foam roller to roll it out.

I have used a foam roller for the longest time but I LOVE the idea of using something to more fully target the tougher areas!
