Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day, is a traditional North American holiday to give thanks at the conclusion of the harvest season. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. In the United States, Thanksgiving is a four day weekend which usually marks a pause in school and college calendars. Families and friends gather for a reunion, a day of thanks, and a festive meal. In keeping with the holiday theme of giving thanks, during the socializing or meal, people talk about what they are thankful for or tell about experiences during the past year which have caused them to feel grateful.Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions? Just kidding.
We do have the typical American meal - turkey, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatos and cranberry salad. Before we eat, we all go around the table and say something we're thankful for and then we pray. Then we eat :-) Of course - being from Michigan - we also watch the Lions. Maybe this year they will actually win! THAT would be a new tradition!
