How were your workouts this past week?

JINGLE Cruise

Jungle Cruise is one of Ryan's favorite rides. Christmas is my favorite holiday. Mesh the two together and I am SURE it will be MAGIC!! Maybe this is JUST what we needed to push us to renew our Disneyland Annual Passes :)

Jungle Cruise Goes ‘Jingle Cruise’ for the Holidays at Disneyland Park & Magic Kingdom Park

We just got word from our friends in Walt Disney Imagineering that an Adventureland attraction will receive its first-ever holiday makeover this year. Beginning in early November, Jungle Cruise at both Disneyland park and Magic Kingdom Park will temporarily transform into “Jingle Cruise” for the holiday season!
Jungle Cruise is Going ‘Jingle Cruise’ for the Holidays at Disneyland Park & Magic Kingdom Park
In this new seasonal storyline of the attraction, the Skippers have grown homesick for the holidays, so they’ve added holiday cheer to the Jungle Cruise queue and boathouse with decorations that have been mailed to them from home (plus a few they’ve created themselves). The Skippers have also added a slew of new jokes to their tours that are the perfect way to get guests in the holiday spirit. Additionally, Jungle Cruise boats have been renamed with the holidays in mind, and if guests listen carefully, they may hear a holiday-themed radio broadcast playing in the background.
Jingle Cruise will begin launches in early November at both parks. Be sure to keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more updates!

REVIEW: The Good Bean

I was sent a bag of The Good Bean Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas from RunnerBox this month [check out my original REVIEW of RunnerBox HERE if you haven't read it.... And I URGE you to sign up for a RunnerBox subscription - you will NOT be disappointed!].

I received the Sea Salt version [lightly dusted with coarse salt]. "The concept for The Good Bean was inspired by street vendors in Indian cities, who roast chickpeas in salt making those hard little beans nutty, crispy, buttery morsels of deliciousness."

They have other varieties of their all natural roasted chickpea snacks – all of which look YUMMY!

Source

They are Gluten Free, Non-GMO, Nut Free, Soy Free, and Vegan! It seems like they are “good for *every* body” [which is the saying on the bag, as well as truth - they seem to be conscious of a lot of the food sensitivities that most folks have]. The chickpeas have as much protein as almonds and as much fiber as two cups of broccoli.

I munched on them this afternoon at work around 2pm – a GREAT mid-afternoon snack.

The Good Bean launched in September 2010 with a line of first-to-market All-Natural Roasted Chickpea Snacks in 4 flavors. They’re an excellent alternative to standard snacks such as chips, nuts, pretzels and popcorn – gluten-free, nut-free, high protein, high fiber, and low fat.

In February 2012 they launched a second product line, The Good Bean Fruit & No-Nut Bar, a line of wholesome snack bars for the extremely popular fruit & nut bar category. They replaced the nuts with high-fiber, high-protein chickpeas for a bar that has 40-60% less fat than the competition. Like their chickpea snacks, their bars are a unique alternative in the category due to their health benefits, and also contain Fair-Trade and clean-processed ingredients.

All-in-all I thought they were a great product. The Sea Salt variety was a tad bit too salty for my liking, but then again, normally I prefer my nuts to be 'natural', so keep that in mind. I really enjoyed the CRUNCH! I am sure most folks will LOVE these! I can't wait to see if they carry The Good Bean in stores nearby - that way I can try the other flavors. (I even noticed on the website that they suggested the Cinnamon beans as a topper for yogurt instead of granola - who would have thought of that?!)

Our Skipper Resigns

Just in case you missed it yesterday - Jim Leyland, the Detroit Tigers Manager, resigned. He will be accepting another position with the Tigers, but won't be in the dugout as the Manager.

Dating ABCs: B

This past weekend Ryan was gone. He had been talking about going on a BigFoot Hunt for a birthday bash for a LONG TIME! He actually talked some of his friends into making it happen, so this past weekend they went up to the Red Woods near Santa Cruz and camped.

They didn’t find any Sasquatch (big surprise, huh?!), but it sounds like they had a great time.  [If you have Instagram, I would HIGHLY suggest searching #SasquatchManHunt2013 to see some of the photos/ videos of the weekend shenanigans.]

Anyway, with Ryan being gone Thursday through Sunday, we didn’t have much time to make our B Date happen – but hey, a short date is better than nothing.

We ended up going down to the BEACH Sunday evening for a stroll and to watch the sun set. Of course we had to take some pictures (I think Ryan had about 30 on his camera, but most of them were TERRIBLE, so I narrowed down the “best” ones.)

Ryan really liked shooting with the filters in the new iPhone update...

No filter - pure majesty :)

Ryan drew me a heart... Then got sad that I didn't want to take a picture... So this one is for him :)

Fun design in the sand
