REVIEW: Quest Protein Cookies

I may be a day late, but I think I found a New Year's Resolution that most people not only can but WANT TO stick with...

EAT MORE COOKIES!

And before some of you health nuts get all up in arms about it and say that I'm promoting an unhealthy lifestyle (which, let me be clear, I believe you should be able to enjoy anything you'd like in moderation {minus meat... I definitely think you should just cut that out entirely from your diet ;) }), let me be one of the first to share the AMAZING news...

QUEST CREATED A PROTEIN COOKIE!

You read that right... A healthy cookie with 15 grams of protein, up to 12 grams of fiber and only 3 grams or less of sugar. Quest has baked up a soft and chewy batch of their newest craveable protein treat with their Quest Protein Cookie!

Currently they offer three flavors: Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate Chip. (Tried and true flavors, so I totally understand going that route, but if I have a say, I think the next two flavors should be Snickerdoodle and Funfetti.)

If you've been around my corner of the InterWebs for a while, you know I'm normally not a huge sweets person (although the hubby has never met a dessert he didn't like). Nevertheless, I was still super excited to try these puppies out.

I'd say my favorite was Peanut Butter followed by Chocolate Chip which surprised me because I expected Chocolate Chip to come out on top. The hubby said Chocolate Chip was his fave flavor and Peanut Butter would be his second choice.

How cute is the tee that they sent along with the cookies?! It says "eat more cookies" and even has thumb holes!

As always, I was pretty late to the game when it came to Quest Protein Bars, but I know a lot of the OG fans recommend putting the bars in the microwave or oven for a few seconds. Apparently it makes them more like cookies... Well, here you go! You don't even have to warm these babies up (although I'm sure they'd be delicious that way as well)! The consistency is much more like a cookie than a protein bar and the flavors are yummy (remember, they are naturally sweetened).

I was thinking, if you wanted a MAJOR protein dessert, you could make a BOMB ice cream cookie sandwich with some Halo Top ice cream in between two of these guys! (The cookies themselves are a good size, approximately 3 inches in diameter, so think of it as a protein-packed alternative to a Toll House ice cream sandwich ;))

The hubby and I both agree that it feels like you are cheating on your healthy eating lifestyle by pounding one of these (plus there is no funny "healthy" aftertaste that you get with some protein bars). With Quest products, you can eat toward your goals and love every bite along the way. This is a cookie that promises food can taste as good as it is good for you.

Like I mentioned, this is a BRAND NEW PRODUCT, so you might not see them in the next day or two at your local grocery store, but once you see them hit shelves near you, I'd HIGHLY suggest grabbing one (or seven)! Hope you have a delicious and nutritious New Year! PS As of today you can order the protein cookies from the Quest Nutrition website.

I am not a big SWEETS person either! I would say if I am having a sugar craving it will be a warm sugar cookie or a chocolate chip cookie with little chips. LOL!
