Love Your Melon was founded in an entrepreneurship class at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota by two friends, Zachary and Brian. On a mission to improve the lives of children battling cancer since October 22nd, 2012, Love Your Melon began with the simple idea of putting a hat on every child who was battling cancer in America.

After achieving the original goal of giving 45,000 hats (one for every child battling cancer in America) LYM set a new goal of giving one million dollars to pediatric cancer research and providing immediate support to children and their families.
Fifty percent of profit from the sale of LYM products is given to Love Your Melon’s non-profit partners who lead the fight against pediatric cancer. Their partners work in the field of pediatric oncology, fund cancer research initiatives and provide immediate support for families of children battling cancer. To date, they've given over 4.3 million dollars and 120,000 hats.

Although Southern California might not get COLD cold, it can still be "California cold" and you better believe I'd ROCK their gear! In fact, they sent me a Black Speckled Beanie and it's AWESOME! It came at the perfect time too, because the hubby and I have some upcoming adventures that'll take us into some colder temperatures so this will be PERFECT!
We went camping this past weekend on the beach and the beanie came in quite handy in the evenings |
I think the next one I need to grab is one of the cuffed pom beanies... I mean, let's be real, aren't they super cute?!

And just in case these hats, accessories or apparel {they even have mugs, book bags, water bottles, bandanas, totes, tumblers and fanny packs!} aren't your jam, you can still help! Not only can you donate to the cause, but you can also write a note to one of the SUPERHERO kids battling cancer. Your well-wishes will be personally delivered and will absolutely put a smile on a child's face as they experience the difficulties of treatment. #DoItForTheKids

Are you more of a beanie, headband or ear-muff type person?
