Sunday, August 17th – 3 hour run
Monday, August 18th – 75 minutes on the stationary bike
Tuesday, August 19th – 3 mile run
Wednesday, August 20th – 4 mile run
Thursday, August 21st – Rest day
Friday, August 22nd – 2 mile run
Saturday, August 23rd – Marathon
Sunday's long run felt strong. I ran the whole thing (except two walk breaks to take my fuel) and felt good about it. I came home and told the hubby that I was going to run the 50K (I have been going back and forth on whether I want to downgrade to the 25K or stick with the 50K distance). The rest of the runs went fine - just short ones in preparation for the marathon distance come Saturday. Well, let's just say I had a strong 8 miles and then the humidity did me in. No joke, around that time I started running through a thunderstorm and the humidity was radiating up off the ground. After that point I was mostly walking (had a decent first 20 miles) until I hit about mile 23 and started to get light headed. I walked down to the beach, sat on the breakwall and took about a 10 minute breather. After that I went back to walking it back to the car. Had you asked me at the beginning of the week, I would've said I was all in for the 50K, but now I'm seriously thinking about the 25K and dialing back the rest of my training plan. Only time will tell as to what I decide to do come race day.
