Judge orders removal of seals from Children's Pool

A judge has ordered the city of San Diego to begin dispersing the seals from the Children's Pool beach in La Jolla within 72 hours.

The city plans to comply by using a portable public-address system to emit the sounds of barking dogs to scare off the seals sometime between now and Thursday morning. The plan is expected to cost nearly $700,000, mostly because police officers will be needed to keep protesters from interfering.
