Friday Favorites

Happy Groundhog Day! I swear, some posts (like my Friday Favorites series) tend to feel a bit like Groundhog Day repeating over and over... but hopefully you find a few nuggets in them from time to time! Now let's do this thang!

Canasta

I grew up playing Canasta. I'd play with my mom, grandma and aunt. There are a few things that have carried over into life (such as the term "meld" or trying to cut the deck perfectly), but, for the most part, I've forgotten about it. Well, that was until a couple weeks ago. We were over at our best friends' home and had some great Rummikub games going on (another fave game) when they said we should play Canasta. I knew I'd be able to re-learn it quickly but wasn't sure how the hubby would do... Thankfully he has been a decent learner and now we have another awesome game to play. PS It's the wives vs the husbands... and we said whoever wins has to buy the other two airfare to Thailand ;) {Although with the winners having to score in the millions it'll probably be a few years before Katrina and I board that jet ;) }

National Frozen Yogurt Day

The hubby has a BIG sweet tooth (if you haven't noticed before ;)) so when I got an email from Menchie's earlier this week giving us the heads up about National Frozen Yogurt Day (and their BOGO deal) I knew I needed to add it to our calendar. I'm sure other froyo places will be having deals on February 6th, but we will be hitting up our local Menchie's to take advantage of the "holiday". Let's be real, for the hubby, any reason to celebrate with desserts is reason enough.

Crusoe's Day in the Life

I know I'm not the only one who follows "celebrity animals" on social media, right?! One of my favorites is Crusoe. Well, I just saw that they released a 10 minute film of 'a day in the life' on YouTube and HAD to watch it. Since wiener dogs are just so sassy fun, I thought you might want to give it a watch and let it brighten your day ;)

Unlock Hope Clearance

I've mentioned Unlock Hope before (they're a clothing company that donates 100% of their after-tax profits to fully fund the Think Humanity girl's hostel in Hoima, Uganda. Through the donation of their profits the girls receive health care, three quality meals a day, utilities, transportation, support staff, tuition, school fees, clothing, uniforms, toiletries, school supplies, books and more.), but they're having a HUGE clearance sale (shirts for $5, $10 or $15) so I ordered 6 more tees.
