Brooks + National Park Service
I saw this on REI's Instagram stories last week and was STOKED! Like I legit ran into the office to tell the hubby all about it. If you know me, you know I love both Brooks and the National Park Service. Well, then a collaboration is like a match made in heaven, right?! I don't know that I will actually get any of these shoes because I don't run trails often and don't know how my feet would love the Cacadia shoes, but the tees may make it onto my birthday list ;) (PS I think the Yosemite or Yellowstone lines are my favorite but they all are pretty awesome!)

Blue Diamond Honey Roasted Cinnamon Almonds
I picked up these almonds from the grocery story a couple weeks ago because they were on sale (and have since stocked up on the remaining canisters that they had left). Normally my go-to "flavor" are raw (non-salted) almonds, but I love me some "sugar and booger" (I don't know why, but that's what my family calls cinnamon and sugar on toast) so I thought I'd give them a try. These are yummy. They remind me of almond churros! Now obviously they are a little more "dessert" like than your standard almonds, but they are an awesome, healthier alternative than say ice cream or candy.
Brooks Women Ad
I came across a Brooks Women Instagram post the other day and it made me smile. They were using women of DIFFERENT sizes in an ad - not just the body type we are used to seeing when it comes to running brands (and one that very few woman naturally have). Not only that, THEY WERE ROCKING THEIR SPORTS BRAS! I didn't look at the picture and think about potential flaws or insecurities or shame. I saw these women and thought about STRENGTH and HEALTH and EMPOWERMENT! Thank you, Brooks, for showcasing REAL women!

Team Lemma Tackles Disneyland
Two of my awesome friends, Carrie and Allison, have two amazing daughters, Lucy and Emma. Team "Lemma" (Lucy + Emma) will be tackling their first half marathon together at Disneyland (the Disneyland Half) as a way to raise funds and awareness for Rett Syndrome. They set an ambitious goal to raise $1300 by the race, which is on September 3rd, $100 for each mile they will be running. These two ladies ROCK MY SOCKS (as do their families) and I thought I'd challenge YOU to donate $13.10 to the cause. Every penny counts, though, so feel free to donate as much or as little as you can!
