But I realized that I hadn't make it "blog official", so I figured it was TIME to spill the beans before we got too far....

I'M PLANNING TO TACKLE MY FIRST 100-MILER IN 2022!
Source |
I'm not sure if you picked up on it, but I didn't say I'd COMPLETE my first 100-mile race, but I was going to ATTEMPT my first 100-miler... As I am sure you can imagine, the distance is no small feat and when running for THAT LONG you never know what could happen, so I want to remove some of the {self-imposed} pressure in case I'm unable to finish the race.

Technically I'm not signed up for the race I'm eyeing yet, but that's only because registration hasn't officially opened. I have written out my training plan and started looking at other races that might line up with what I'll have on my calendar (when training for 100-miler, you will have A LOT of long runs {DUH}, so I figured that if there were affordable, local-ish races I could fit into what I needed to be running, I might register so I won't be running on my own and the same routes week after week [not to mention having aid stations, volunteers and spectators can make a HUGE difference]).

I'm sure I'll share more along the journey (about which race I running {I don't want to jump the gun in case it sells out before I can register}, my training, etc), but I wanted to throw it out there that if you have specific questions or topics you'd like me to touch on, just let me know! Obviously this is a whole new beast (my longest race has been the 50-mile distance and non-race was the Rim2Rim2Rim journey the hubby and I tackled in 2018), so I'm definitely FAR from an expert, but in case there are particular things you're interested in, I'd love to share my thoughts/ spread my knowledge/ etc.

Do you have any goals for next year?!
