Saturday, April 30th – Rest Day

I had to swap my Friday and Saturday workouts around because I went up to LA to stay with a friend (and go to two Dodgers Tigers baseball games). I went up Friday afternoon and didn't want to have to worry about getting in a long "run" on Saturday morning, so a long run on Friday and a rest on Saturday was a better option for my schedule. My sweet friend also offered to run my Sunday morning run with me (but more on that next week ;)). Overall I'm stoked with the progress my body is making. I know I am still walking a portion of my "runs", but while I was on my Friday long run I realized if I could do 25 miles in less than 5 hours (with "forced walks"), that'd translate to 100 miles in 20 hours. Obviously I know the fatigue will only increase as you go, your pace will only slow as you continue (especially into the dark hours), but I'm naively no longer worried about the distance... just about letting Brian down with our pace. Oh, yeah, Pavey finally announced to the InterWebs that he is running the 100-miler with me, so I can share the news too ;) (We may have been planning this for a year or so now.) Anywho, I'm going to continue going to PT twice a week, work on my lengthening and strengthening of my muscles and hopefully be back at running 100% of the time sooner rather than later!

How were your workouts this past week?
