Sunday, July 23rd  13.1 mile run (virtual half marathon with a bestie who was running the SF Marathon)

Monday, July 24th – 60 minutes on the stationary bike

Tuesday, July 25th –  5K run

Wednesday, July 26th – Rest Day

Thursday, July 27th – Rest Day

Friday, July 28th   Rest Day

Saturday, July 29th – Rest Day

Well, this wasn't how the week was supposed to go... After my run on Tuesday (where I honestly felt the strongest on our neighborhood hill as I had all training cycle) I felt a little tenderness behind my left knee (it was more on the back of my leg, where the leg folds). I tried to stretch it out, take it easy and put some CBD rub on it in hopes to be back at it come Wednesday morning. Unfortunately, when I woke up Wednesday I knew I needed to take a day off. The pain was still there (sort of feeling like a knot or a strained tendon or something). I crossed my fingers, said a few prayers and went to sleep with the intent to run Thursday morning... Well, as you can see from the recap, that didn't happen either. That nagging feeling was still there, so I took a second unscheduled rest day. Friday is my normal rest day (and we were up in Huntington Beach for one of the hubby's friend's memorial). Saturday came and I thought I would give it a try. I was supposed to have 7 miles on Wednesday, 3 more on Thursday and 7 on Saturday. I figured I'd head to the beach (where it is flatter), and go for maybe 3 or 4 miles, but when I jogged around the house before leaving I felt like I was maybe 80%. My thought was, if I wait another day I might be able to get back to 100% or if I go out, I might just stay at 80% the whole training cycle or injure myself further. I am hoping that this is early enough in my training cycle (remember, I don't have a time goal for Detroit, it will just be to experience my home state) that these extra 3 days of rest won't set me back too far.

How were your workouts this past week?
