I won two pairs of Swiftwick Socks. Swiftwick manufactures high performance compression socks that deliver a competitive advantage to every costumer in their chosen sport.
Now Swiftwick has eight different lines (all with a different purpose and feel) and six different heights of socks, so you can imagine it was hard narrowing down which pairs I wanted to pick.
Zero is the 'base' height and everything after that is that many inches taller |
Before I go any further, I must make a confession. Socks are one thing I don't really pay attention to. Now don't get me wrong - I LOVE my Pro Compression Marathon Socks for recovery, circulation, swelling, etc, but when I say "socks" I mean short, every day type socks. Honestly, for most workouts I just wear run-of-the-mill white little socks that I got at Target.
Well, since my current "socks" are the "no-show" type, I figured I would go with the zero height. I decided I would try a pair from the Aspire line and a pair from the Vibe line. (And of course you knew I had to go with a little BRIGHT COLOR, right?!)

The socks have been sitting in our office on the desk for a while now. I don't know why I hadn't gotten around to trying them out before now. I have to say, I am pretty disappointed in myself for not giving them a test drive sooner - THEY ARE GREAT!!
I wore the Pink Aspire Zero socks out on a seven mile run earlier this week. Now although we don't have a Polar Vortex going on in San Diego, the marine layer (aka FOG) has been pretty bad and just sitting right at the beach. I was a little worried how the socks would hold up in the humidity - but thankfully they were wonderful and wicked away all of the moisture (humidity, Pacific Ocean spray, sweat, etc).
The socks are knit with 200 needles (the highest density you will find in socks) - which means they are so tightly knitted that the rocks and debris that work its way into your shoes cannot penetrate the sock to cause irritation or blistering - WHOOO HOOO. They make their socks to feel more like a second-skin, which I can attest to. There was no bunching, slipping, or shifting.
I wore the Grey and Pink Vibe Zero socks out on a 20 mile bike ride this morning. The vibe line has a little more padding to make it a little cushier while still being a compression sock. They worked perfectly on my ride. (And it's like the socks were MADE to go with my shoes, right?!)
I have to say, I might have a hard time going back to my "standard" socks after feeling what "real" socks are all about :). And if you don't like your Swiftwick socks, they have a guarantee that they will even replace them with a competitor's pair of equal value - so what do you have to lose?!
Oh yeah, and one last thing - THEY ARE MADE IN THE USA! Swiftwick employs an American workforce, with all of their socks made in Tennessee! And if you know me (or my dad), you know this is a BIG thang!
WAY TO GO Swiftwick! I give you TWO HAPPY FEET (sort of like two thumbs up, but feet because they are socks, get it?! LAME, I KNOW, but I tried)!!
