Today's Run

I don't know if you are like me, but sometimes I take the beauty around me for granted. We live in an AMAZING area and at times it just becomes background noise. Today I wanted to focus and take in my surroundings.

This afternoon after I got off work I went for a run down at the beach. I figured I wouldn't listen to music, wouldn't look at my watch (other than at mile marks), and would just drink in God's majesty around me.

And OBVIOUSLY He or His creation did NOT disappoint.

I stopped a few times along my run to take a couple pictures.

The Oceanside Pier

Lovely, huh?!

I love running The Strand. The ocean breeze is AWESOME!

I was taking my Garmin picture and Mr. Squirrel came over to check me out.

I think I should have put my watch on him for the picture ;)

And shoot, I even ran negative splits. Mile 1 - 9:23, Mile 2 - 9:19, Mile 3 - 9:18, Mile 4 - 9:04, Mile 5 - 7:14. (I obviously still had gas in the tank from the easier pace for the first four miles so I kicked it into high gear for that last one.)

When was the last time you stood in awe of what you see on a daily basis?
