Workout Recap - Week 10

Sunday, March 1st  8 mile progressive run

Monday, March 2nd – Rest day

Tuesday, March 3rd – 5.05 mile run

Wednesday, March 4th – 5.05 mile run

Thursday, March 5th – Rest day

Friday, March 6th  7.2 mile run

Saturday, March 7th – 5 mile run

A little over 30 miles for the week - I'll take it! Getting into the swing of things now that I'm back to the work grind ;) Right now I'm working Monday through Thursday (filling in on Fridays if one of the other employees needs to take a day off), so I'm running Friday, Saturday and Sunday [since I'm not working and have the whole day to get my runs in], then Tuesday and Wednesday [so I only have to wake up at 4:30am twice a week]. I'm hoping to start increasing my weekend runs a bit, but want to do it slowly so I don't injure myself. Also, at least for the last two weeks, my legs feel pretty fatigued on Fridays (after working for four days straight), so I might go back to Saturday + Sunday long runs rather than Friday + Sunday.

Walt Wednesday

Some people do a "Wordless Wednesday" post, where they simply share a photo or image, but I thought I'd make a little series out of my Wednesdays. And since I love alliteration so much, why not go with Walt Wednesdays (obviously everyone can use a little break from the seriousness, scariness and sassiness of life - and what better way to help put a smile on your face than with a cute wiener dog picture, am I right?!)... So, without further ado...

WALT WEDNESDAY!

When life gets overwhelming, how do you de-stress?

Workout Recap - Week 9

Sunday, February 22nd  8 mile run

Monday, February 23rd – Rest day

Tuesday, February 24th – 5.1 mile run

Wednesday, February 25th – 5.15 mile run

Thursday, February 26th – Rest day

Friday, February 27th  6.2 mile run

Saturday, February 28th – 5 mile run

Most of the week went fine - nothing too special to write home about. Friday's run, on the other hand, was less than stellar. I think there are a few reasons. First, I was planning on running 8 miles, but finished with a 10K. I recently started a new job and stand at my desk Monday through Thursday (I have Fridays off for the time being), so I think by Friday my legs were pretty tired. Also, the hubby had been out of town for a photoshoot for a week and got home that morning so I started later than I probably would've liked... And we were having Santa Ana winds, which meant it was 84* (feels like 88) and I don't think my body was ready for the heat. Don't get me wrong, I got in movement, but I felt slightly disappointed in my body afterwards. Hey, they can't all be amazing (or even mediocre) runs, the bad ones happen... then we move on.
