Ryan called dibs on the PocketFuel and used it for our California 10/20 Race this past weekend.
Ryan really enjoys the new Coffee Shots. If you like coffee flavors (the one he scarfed down this time was Mocha), he would DEFINITELY recommend trying them out! |
This morning I made Ryan this big breakfast - complete with toast, eggs (scrambled with cheese - his favorite), and potatoes with onions. Well, once I finished cooking everything, I got right to doing the dishes (yep, I am playing Suzy Homemaker quite well lately, but I figure it's the least I can do since Ry is the sole bread winner currently and giving me the freedom to stay home right now). After making Walt's breakfast of rice and chicken {you should check out the FUNNY STORY I posted yesterday about this if you haven't yet} and taking him for a walk, I figured I should get ready to go for my weekly bike ride (my bike ride is part of my marathon training - as a way to cross train - but I am ALSO somewhat training for a 50 mile bike race that I signed up for in November). Once I had my gear, Garmin, and water bottle, I realized I didn't eat anything... On the way out the door I decided to grab the Honey Stinger Organic Vanilla Waffle that was in my RunnerBox.
OH MY GOODNESS!! Where have these been all my life?! Not only are they an all natural and certified organic source of fuel, THEY ARE DELICIOUS!! I mean like, I couldn't wait to finish my bike ride so that I could order more of them!
I grabbed a couple pictures, but honestly was surprised I was able to refrain from eating it all and actually snap a couple shots.
It's a thin layer of honey infused with natural vanilla flavor and sandwiched between two thin waffles. It was moist and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! {I'm sure some of my readers think I am quite the exaggerator, but I am being 100% truthful! THESE ARE FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC!} They have 5 flavors - honey, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and lemon. I had the vanilla and am OVER THE MOON for it!
It kept me energized my whole bike ride, even without having anything else to eat prior. I didn't have any issue digesting it either. (I have a 'texture' thing, so can't 'do' a lot of the gooey fuels out on the market, but this was like actual FOOD.) REAL FOOD, REAL FUEL, REAL PERFORMANCE! I am pretty sure I found my new go-to pre-run (or ride) fuel {I'm thinking of even trying them out during my long runs to see if they will be my mid-workout fuel as well}.
As always, if YOU would like to try RunnerBox and have the opportunity to try out the Honey Stinger Vanilla Waffle (it is in the February/ March box, so if you order it now, it should be included in your shipment) AND THEN SOME, make sure to use my ambassador code to get 10% off your order!
Have you ever had the Honey Stinger Organic Waffles before?

I LOVE honey stinger waffles. They're delicious. I carried a couple as options when I ran my first marathon, and was so happy I had them after 20 miles of Gu.
