5ks

Yep, the "S" was supposed to be in the title. I am looking to run MULTIPLE 5ks... Since my 'normal' day running is about 3-3.5 miles (and currently my long day is about 5 miles), I figured 5ks are right around my normal day anyway. I think that running a few races before my half marathon will be good - get me in the racing mindset and get used to running in crowds (I mean of course the boardwalk in Carlsbad is busy when I run, but mostly with dog walkers and pedestrians). The two 5ks that I am looking at running are both in May (one mid-May and one late-May).


The first one that I am looking at running is the City of Encinitas 5K. I am planning on running this one for time. It is about a month and a half away and I am hoping that I will be able to get a pretty good time on it. Maybe Ryan will be my photographer this race and get a few pictures of me running.



The second one that I am looking at running is the Vista Strawberry Festival 5000 Run. This one sounds like more fun - not to mention everyone gets a Strawberry medal for participating. I think Ryan might actually run this one with me, so if he does I think I will run with him (even if it isn't my fastest time, I think running and finishing a race together would be awesome).
