The Lions?

I had posted earlier this month about one of the kids I went to school with being traded from the Raiders (where he was the last 4 years) to the Patriots. I just saw an article this morning that said Chris has now been signed by the Lions. At least he is closer to home I guess...

Detroit Lions Sign Chris Morris, Release Greg Niland

The Detroit Lions signed center Chris Morris on Wednesday. To make room on the roster for Morris, the Lions parted ways with offensive guard Greg Niland.

Morris is a former Michigan State Spartan who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He spent the first four years of his career in Oakland and played for the Carolina Panthers in 2010. This offseason he was with the New England Patriots until recently being released.

Morris appeared in only four games last season and only five games in his rookie year. In 2008 and 2009, he played in all 16 games each season and made 10 starts in '09. He only started in one game in '08 and didn't start in any of the 10 games he appeared in during the 2007 season.
