Melting Pot

The LA Times released an article today stating that California is leading nation in diversity. Minorities make up 57% of the state's population and one-third of the nation's, data show.
"Deepening the nation's diversity, the minority population of the United States reached 100.7 million in 2006, led by California as home to the largest numbers of the two fastest-growing racial groups, Latinos and Asians, the Census Bureau reported today.Minorities now account for one-third of the nation's 300 million U.S. residents, with the largest share of them — 21% — living in California."
I enjoy the diversity and the different cultures that are always present in San Diego. It is so rich and diverse that it is hard to think of going somewhere else that is not as diverse. I know that some people get heated on the subject of immigration, so I'm not going to get into it, but I love just being able to experience so many different things that I have to love living in a progressive state that is open and welcoming (don't get me wrong, I know that some parts of Cali are very conservative and close minded, but the parts that I love here are the welcoming ones).
