Near Perfect Run

Today I had to go into the office for a meeting. When I was planning my workouts for the day I realized I didn't have to wake up before the butt-crack off dawn to run, but could actually run after my meeting this afternoon.

I did forget a few things though... I forgot my sunnies (I swear I have like 5 pairs but somehow they were ALL in the house and not in the car), something to drink (I normally ALWAYS have a reusable water bottle with me, so really don't know how I could have walked out of the house without one), and how WARM it is running in the afternoons.

Even with those factors against me, I swear it was like everything else was clicking.

The scenery (as ALWAYS) is absolutely stunning!

No filter needed - this is just pure beauty!

I was keeping a steady pace (although it wasn't super fast, I was trying to take into account that I have two races this weekend and it was warmer than I was expecting) - all of my miles were within a five second spread (between 8:58 and 9:03 per mile pace).

Last, but definitely not least, I was able to breath through my nose the entire time! I don't mean that my nose was stuffed but was able to breath through it. I mean I was able to run with my mouth closed the ENTIRE run and regulate my breathing so much so that I was breathing through my nose the entire time! (This may not seem like a big deal, but normally I try to breath through my nose and can only last about a half mile or so, so being able to go an entire 6 miles was AWESOME for me.)

I LOVE it when you have runs that just feel like they go perfectly. I FO SHO needed this run! I have been having way too many lately that have been less than stellar, so to have a great one is definitely a confident booster!

When was your last time it felt like everything was going right on a run?
