Soda Free Update

Can you believe that I haven't had soda (pop for all my Michiganders :)) since January 23rd, 2012?! Two years and four months ago!

I was never a tea or coffee drinker, so my only "vice" was diet sodas. {Of course I had to go "diet" because who wanted to drink their calories?! I guess drinking my chemicals were better in my mind...}

Yup, this was the size soda they'd bring me at the sports bar so they didn't have to keep coming back to refill my glass (it was too heavy for me to lift...). And in a frosty mug nonetheless :)

Of course there are still those days every once in a while (normally the warmer weather brings it out of me) that I think an ice cold Diet Mountain Dew would hit the spot, but the sweet nectar hasn't enticed me enough yet to go back to the Dark Side :)

What do I drink nowadays you may ask? Mostly water. I LOVE it. I know there are a lot of folks that have to choke it down or force themselves to drink it, but thankfully that is NOT me. Every once in a while I get a little bored with straight H2O, but for the most part you can catch me gulping TONS of it down (which causes me to have to go to the restroom often - especially with having a bladder the size of a pea, but just another reason to get up and get moving, right?!).

What is your go-to drink of choice?

I'm a water drinker only (well, mostly, not counting beer) too! When I get bored with water, I switch to bubbly water. I was never a big soda drinker, but when I decided to not drink soda ever, I found that the thing I really missed was the carbonation. Bubbly water fills that craving. I also like the bubbly water that has a hint of flavor, like Crystal Geyser Sparkling Water.

I gave up soda at least a decade ago. I might have a ginger ale on occasion but for the most part I drink water. Tea moreso in the summer and yeah, I'm a coffee addict!

I stopped drinking soda only 2 or 3 weeks ago. Most of my life, soda was about the only thing I drank! In my late 30's (I'm 66 now) I switched to Diet Coke (which I previously hated) because of creeping weight gain. For the past year or so, I only had soda (Diet Coke) when we ate out and I drank San Pellegrino at home (still love the bubbles!).
