Hairy 'N Scary Foto Contest: WALT-A-SAUR-US

If you've been around here for a while, you know I love entering contests and giveaways (and I even love hosting them!). My thought is - SOMEONE HAS TO WIN, WHY NOT ME?! Like, legit, the hubby and I actually won a trip to Costa Rica from Dole (you know, the banana and pineapple company...) all because we entered our email addresses into a contest.

Contests and giveaways with amazing prizes are pretty AWESOMESAUCE. But you know what is even better?! Contests and giveaways that give the prizes to those in need! I have a heart that loves to give to others, so when I saw this contest I KNEW we had to enter.

The Albertsons Safeway family of local grocery stores is partnering with Nestle Purina for a Hair 'N Scary pet photo contest this October. One winner from 13 of the Albertsons Safeway divisions will be selected and will receive a $250 donation along with ten bags of Purina ONE® and ten bags of Purina® Cat Chow® in their name, to their local, non-profit, accredited animal shelter or rescue to assist with housing, feeding, caring for, and finding families for, thousands of dogs, cats and other lovable creatures.

Now, we aren't ones to normally dress up our doggy (the only thing that Walt wears is his harness or his life vest if he is going in the water), but for a good cause? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!

Ryan and I have tons of nicknames for Walt the Wiener Dog (as I am sure you have for your pets). One of them is Walt-a-saur-us. I mean, he is sort of like a T-Rex with his stubby arms, right?! So when we saw a dinosaur costume on Amazon we ordered it right away!

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but my hubby is an amazing graphic designer and artist. His brain works in such a different way than mine that we compliment each other perfectly (at least that is one way to look at how much of complete opposites we are ;)). Well, as soon as I mentioned this contest, his wheels started turning. He decided that we MUST bring Walt and his costume into their photo studio at work and have a mini photo shoot.

And because a white background is "boring", the hubster decided to doctor up some of the pictures and make it a little more dino-like.

I am really hoping that Walt-a-saur-us is picked as a winner. If you remember one of the days from my #Carlees31 project, we bought and delivered toys and food to our local Humane Society and it would be AMAZING if we could bless them with this prize!
