Workout Recap - Week 51

Sunday, December 15th  12 mile run

Monday, December 16th –  Rest day

Tuesday, December 17th – 3.11 mile run

Wednesday, December 18th – 50 minutes on the stationary bike

Thursday, December 19th – 3 mile run

Friday, December 20th  30 minutes on the stationary bike

Saturday, December 21st – 6 mile run (first 4 with the hubby, last 2 on my own)

The hubby was in Michigan last weekend to visit his family for the holidays and his flight on Sunday got delayed (originally he was supposed to land around 10:30pm and his flight didn't touch down until after 2am), so I did my Sunday long run in the evening to give me something to do while I waited. Also, since I got like 3 hours of sleep Sunday night (well, let's call it like it was - Monday morning), I ended up swapping my bike ride to Friday and taking a rest day Monday AM. Other than that another 'solid' week done. Less than a month till the Rose Bowl Half (no goals, will just be fun to toe the line again).

Walt Wednesday

Some people do a "Wordless Wednesday" post, where they simply share a photo or image, but I thought I'd make a little series out of my Wednesdays. And since I love alliteration so much, why not go with Walt Wednesdays (obviously everyone can use a little break from the seriousness, scariness and sassiness of life - and what better way to help put a smile on your face than with a cute wiener dog picture, am I right?!)... So, without further ado...

Workout Recap - Week 50

Sunday, December 8th  11 mile run

Monday, December 9th –  3 mile run

Tuesday, December 10th – 60 minutes on the stationary bike

Wednesday, December 11th – 3 mile run

Thursday, December 12th – Rest day

Friday, December 13th  30 minutes on the stationary bike

Saturday, December 14th – 6 mile run

I had to swap up my workouts a bit this week because I was giving blood on Thursday before work, which meant I'm not supposed to workout that morning (hence moving my normal rest day from Friday to Thursday) and the following day I tend to be a bit 'drag-y', so I moved a bike day to Friday morning. Otherwise my 'long run' on Sunday was pretty blah. I think it was because I had worked six days in a row and had to run before going into work again that morning. I wanted to walk as much as I ran, but at least I got it done. Otherwise everything went fine. It's starting to be chilly in the mornings (in the 30s), so I'll be honest and say that when I wake up on those run days I would prefer to stay in bed, but, hey, I've gotten out there. (We're looking to hire some help at the running store soon so hopefully I can bring back my lunchtime runs that I was enjoying so much once folks are trained and I don't have to worry about leaving them alone.) One step/ day at a time!

Workout Recap - Week 49

Sunday, December 1st  6 mile run (first 4 with the hubby, last 2 solo)

Monday, December 2nd –  30 minutes on the stationary bike

Tuesday, December 3rd – 3.1 mile run

Wednesday, December 4th – 30 minutes on the stationary bike

Thursday, December 5th – 3.1 mile run

Friday, December 6th  Rest day

Saturday, December 7th – 6 mile run

Workouts for the week - check. The only thing I slightly changed was instead of my normal 60 minutes on the bike I did 30. I just wasn't feeling it, so on Monday and Wednesday I listened to my audiobook for a bit and then called the ride short (no, I didn't get off and do something fun, just housework before jumping in the shower and heading to work). At least I got my legs moving and am keeping the routine chugging along. This week was a 'cutback' week so my Sunday long run wasn't too long, but I'll be starting to go longer again next week (this was week five of the March marathon training plan).

Workout Recap - Week 48

Sunday, November 24th  Rest day

Monday, November 25th –  60 minutes on the stationary bike

Tuesday, November 26th – 3.13 mile run

Wednesday, November 27th – 8ish miles of hiking/ walking Yosemite Valley (including Lower Yosemite Falls) with hubby

Thursday, November 28th – McDot Turkey Trot {4 mile trail run (around [the missing] Mirror Lake) with the hubby}

Friday, November 29th  6 miles of hiking/ walking Yosemite Valley (including Vernal Falls) with the hubby

Saturday, November 30th – Rest day

A little different of a workout week because we were in Yosemite for Thanksgiving. I actually didn't miss too many workouts. Officially it was supposed to be 9 miles on Sunday (which I was "recovering" from our 25 mile hike of the PCT last week, so I'm okay with that), biking on Monday (which I did), 3 miles on Tuesday (which I did), biking on Wednesday (we hiked around Yosemite for three and a half hours, so I think that covered it), 3 miles on Thursday (which the hubby and I did with out 4 mile trail turkey trot), a rest day on Friday (which I swapped with Saturday and the hubby and I hiked around in Yosemite for 3 hours, so I'm going to consider that covering Saturday's 5 miles) and 5 miles on Saturday (which I swapped for Friday's workout since we were driving back from Yosemite all day). For not "forcing" any workouts while we were gone, I will consider this week a giant win! Now that we're back in town for the remainder of the year I should be able to get my regularly scheduled workouts in as they're listed on the calendar (not that it'll make or break anything anyway).
