Let's Get Our Drink On!

Confession time... Since running the St. George Marathon, I have been TERRIBLE about hydrating. I don't really know why, but I went from having a reusable water bottle near me at all times to maybe drinking like 20 ounces a day.
And I legit think that is one of the reasons why my running has been so hard lately (sure, I am still trying to take it easy until I start ramping up my training in a couple weeks, but still, my body feels like I am back at square one).

With that said, things have GOT to change!

I know that we are going into cooler months (HA, maybe where you live it is fall, but here it is still pretty much summer... I looked at the weather forecast and we are supposed to be back in the 90s by Wednesday) and hydrating tends to slip off our list of important things to do, but we cannot let this happen!

So, I am going to put out a challenge... Let's get our drink on! I actually went out and bought a new reusable water bottle this weekend (because if I spend money I am more likely to follow through on something) and am vowing for the next three weeks to drink, drink, DRINK!

I was able to pick up a Nathan BigShot Hydration Bottle from a local TJ Maxx

Seeing as I am still trying to get comfortable with video, I thought I would use this as the perfect way to push myself out of my comfort zone and 'force' myself to give updates throughout the day on my Instagram Stories (if anyone even watches those). [In case you don't follow me, I can be found at @CarleeMcDot.]

Here's the deal, will you join me in stepping up your drinking game? Word on the street is that it takes 21 days to make (or break) a habit. Will you commit to drinking more water for the next three weeks? I figure the more people teaming together on this goal the stronger our chances are to conquer dehydration ;)

I know, I know, we always say "tomorrow", "the first of the month", "next week", etc... But today is as good of a day as any, so let's do this! Like they say, 'There are seven days of the week and someday isn't one of them.'

So, here goes, I'm challenging myself! October 17 - November 7.
Will you join me?

Details (for personal accountability): I'm going to shoot for three refills a day (which is approx. 100 ounces). I don't drink coffee or tea or pop (soda for all you West Coasters), so the majority of what I drink is water. If I go out to eat or to a friend's I will still be gulping down the H2O but it won't count against my consumption unless it comes out of my bottle.

PS I am still trying to figure out the logistics, but I would LOVE to do a GIVEAWAY for those of you who followed through (maybe it will just have to be on the honor system, I've gotta put a little more thought into this).

PPS (or is it PSS?!)  If hydrating isn't your downfall but have another habit you'd like to make (or break) during this three week period, JOIN IN! There's no better day than TODAY!

What habit do you need to make or break?

I'm in. I suck at hydrating.

I totally need to get back to drinking water all the time. I do really well until it's actually race week/post-race and then it's like I forget it's necessary. Filling up the water bottle now!

Count me in. Quite frankly, I suck at it and could use the accountability!

i totally SUCK at drinking water and it's not like i drink anything else. i am now on my second 16 oz bottle of water which is huge for me because typically i barely drink one 16 oz bottle all day at work. thanks for the accountability.

That is a nice water bottle that you scored at TJ Maxx- perfect for filling up and sipping all day. I have to admit, too- I absolutely stink at hydrating myself properly!

I'm so in! I'm terrible about remembering to drink water most days!
