From a Morningstar Farms catered lunch (big props from the vegetarian!) to having our conference room fully stocked with Truitt Family Foods hummus morning-noon-and-night, we were living high on the snack life. Not to mention, the expo was overflowing with awesome samples just asking to be tried (Linzie and I may have skipped the sponsored lunch on Thursday because we were full from all the amazing tastes that were being handed out throughout the expo - PROPS to Kellogg's for letting us customize our own personal, DELISH cereal parfait)!
While at BlogFest, one of our Twitter Breaks was sponsored by siggi's. Jen, Ange and I came across their booth at the expo before the presentation so I was already introduced to their awesomeness.
siggi's is an Icelandic yogurt. Siggi (he told us only his mom calls him by his full name, everyone else uses his nickname, Siggi, when addressing him) originally started making this yogurt because he missed the flavors of home and the US yogurts were too sweet and artificial for his liking. siggi's is different from many of the traditional yogurts on the market because it is thicker, not as sweet, and loaded with protein.
Not only did Siggi bless us while AT the conference with tons of his yogurts to try, he also left us with some coupons so we could stock our fridges AT HOME! Although the company started in the humble beginnings of Siggi's kitchen, thankfully for you and me, siggi's is now available ALL OVER THE COUNTRY!
While I was grabbing a few items to make dinner the other night I saw that our local Frazier Farms had a big selection of siggi's, so why not stock up?! I grabbed 2 vanilla, 1 coconut, 1 blueberry, and 1 mixed berries and açaí.
The LOOT! |
The hubby and I ate our way through the stock-pile rather quickly. His favorite was blueberry (but his favorite flavor is ALWAYS blueberry so it wasn't that big of a surprise for me), while I preferred coconut. We ate the yogurts with berries and chia seeds, with granola, as a base for a smoothie, and on its own - all were DELISH!
One container of blueberry yogurt plus fresh blueberries and sprinkled with Mamma Chia black chia seeds |
One container of vanilla yogurt topped with a sample of Sea Salt Caramel Apple Bear Naked granola that I got from BlogFest |
One container of coconut yogurt, a handful of frozen mixed berries, a couple splashes of almond milk, and topped with chia seeds |
One container of mixed berries and açaí, topped with blueberries, granola, and Mamma Chia black chia seeds. Hubby really enjoyed it! |
And although this isn't yogurt related, I MUST comment on it! I absolutely LOVE the fact that they use 40-50% less plastic in their packaging. The container is actually supported by the cardboard sleeve, which can be removed and recycled separately from the plastic! AWESOMESAUCE!

Oh yeah, and remember when I mentioned that we got an envelope with coupons in it? Well, it also contained THIS magical piece of paper...

I like yogurt as an afternoon snack, with granola if it's a fruity one, or used as a replacement for sour cream with lunch/dinner items if it's plain.

My favorite way to eat yogurt is in my green smoothies.
Fruit, sometimes nuts or granola.
It took me a while to find Siggis but I located it at a bigger Target with full grocery a town over, and it was so worth it, I thought it was delicious! I'm not much if a Greek yogurt person and ai thought this had a great thicker texture with less of a bite - at least that's what I remember, it's been a while now. I think I may have to stop back there... Thanks for the giveaway!
