As most of you know, I do not enjoy spending money. I like find the best deals. I would much rather wait for something to go on sale then by it three weeks earlier at full price. With that being said, I was not planning on buying a Christmas tree this year. I know, SHOCKING, especially since you know my feelings toward the holidays! I figured that we could just wait until after Christmas, go to the store and get them when they are like 75% off - we are going to be back in Michigan for Christmas anyway, so it isn't like we will wake up on Christmas morning to a sad place with no tree or anything like that. Well, I was talking to my mom and she sort of set me straight. If I can't force myself to spend money on a fake Christmas tree that will bring us joy for years to come, what would I spend money on (and WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO SITTING IN THE BANK)?! So, Ryan and I are planning on going Christmas Tree shopping this weekend. We will probably head over to Target (I love Target) to get a tree and some decorations. We are thinking of a classic tree, white sparkling lights, plain red and silver bulbs, etc. I am sure Ryan will have to have a few strange things on there, hehe, but maybe I can hide them in the back.
And no, we aren't going to put up the tree yet, we will wait until Thanksgiving (but Ryan did ask if we could keep it up all year round :) I don't know if that was a joke or because he won't want to take it back down, hehe). And no need to worry, we will take PLENTY of pictures of our FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE!!!
