AND I AM SOOOO STOKED ON THEM!!!!!

You should go out and buy yourself a pair - not only are they AMAZING shoes but you are helping a child in need get a pair of shoes too!! I HEART TOMS!!

PS I looked on the site just now and they are sold out... So you will have to go for a different pair!!

No Office?

Sup wit' dat?! The next Office isn't on until 10.09.8... Why's that?! Oh well, I guess we probably wouldn't have gotten home in time to see it after small group, but still... I LOVE THE OFFICE!! I guess we will just have to watch DVD reruns till next week :)

Weather is coming

It seems as thought WEATHER IS A COMIN'... Hehe... I mean San Diego type weather...

WEATHER WARNING :)

... SIGNIFICANT WEATHER CHANGE COMING TO SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA BY THIS WEEKEND...

UPPER LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE THROUGH CALIFORNIA SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. THIS WILL BRING THE FIRST CHANCE OF WIDESPREAD RAIN TO COASTAL AREAS SINCE LAST SPRING... AND ALL AREAS EXCEPT THE LOWER DESERTS HAVE A POSSIBILITY OF RAIN. PROJECTED RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL MOST LIKELY BE BETWEEN 0.10 AND 0.20 INCHES... BUT SOME COASTAL SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS COULD RECEIVE OVER ONE-QUARTER OF AN INCH.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. LOCAL GUSTS COULD EXCEED 40 MPH OVER THESE AREAS. DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL AVERAGE ABOUT 10 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL SATURDAY WITH THE TROUGH OVERHEAD.

I think they call it FALL, but apparently to Southern California it is a WEATHER WARNING! The only bummer thing is that Ryan and I are going to Disney on Saturday, so hopefully the rains hold off till Sunday :)

Painting

I have been painting lately (with Ryan's encouragement). I haven't decided if I just want to keep the pieces for myself, make a portfolio of my art, sell it, try and put pieces in a gallery, etc. Thought I would post a couple pictures of the pieces I have been working on lately.

What are your thoughts?!

Starting Fresh

Ryan and I will be staying in California for Thanksgiving. I told myself earlier that if we stayed out in San Diego for Thanksgiving then I wanted to sign up to run in a 5k. Originally we were going to be flying back, but once we looked into the time we would actually get to be able to spend relaxing (and NOT traveling) we figured it wouldn't be as worth it as we originally thought - so about two weeks ago we decided we would be staying out here. Oceanside is hosting a 5k, called the O'side Turkey Trot. The course is actually just one street west of our apartment (which would be wonderful to train on). Today I started training for the race. I figured today would be as good of a day as any (especially since it is the first of the month). I went out and ran about a mile. I haven't mapped it all out (but from the map of the race it seems like I ran about a third of the whole course) but I think I did fairly well for my first day out. I ran the entire time and the only issue I had was my breathing (my body wasn't tired, it was more difficult to control my breathing). Anyway, today is the start of the running process. I am hoping that I can continue running after the race, but at least for right now I will be planning on running 5-6 days a week (taking off Saturdays and maybe Tuesdays). I don't need to win the race on Thanksgiving, I just want to finish (and hopefully run it all non-stop). I have a little less than 2 months to train, but hey, it is only 3.1 miles. :) I CAN DO IT!!

I need YOUR help

I'm 28% of the way to my goal... Would you like to help??

Dear Friends,

Last year I participated in the AFSP's 2007 Out of the Darkness Community Walk and once this year's information was announced I made sure to be one of the first to sign up. I hope to raise even more funds for AFSP this year and hopefully with your help will be able to meet my higher goal.

I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide this fall to walk in AFSP's 2008 Out of the Darkness Community Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 32,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.

I hope you will consider supporting my participation in this event. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.

Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please go to the AFSP Community Walk site here (http://www.outofthedarkness.org/) and search for my name(Carlee Padot) in the Participant field on the left hand side of the page. You can then click the "Support This Participant" button on the page.

Thank you for considering donating to this wonderful cause!
