Friday Favorites

I may be flying to Chicago today, but that doesn't mean I won't share some of my favorite things with my favorite peoples... And today I thought I would narrow my "things" down to movies. The hubby and I have seen a couple good ones lately and I wanted to spread the word.

REI Presents: The Mirnavator

This is an 11ish minute documentary about Mirna Valerio. She's an ultra-runner overcoming obstacles on every trail. She battles the negative voices that don’t believe she belongs in the sport. I first "met" Mirna when she took over the Women's Running Magazine Instagram stories a few months back (she was also on the cover of the September issue). She's such an awesome woman who tackles running and whatever hurdles appear with a smile on her face.

You might think I am sharing this film because I'm a Brooks Run Influencer, but I'm not. I'm sharing it because it's a great film. Brooks Professional Runner Gabe Grunewald shares her battle with cancer while demonstrating grace, grit and determination. The movie is 25 minutes and truly shows how BADASS women in sports can be. #BraveLikeGabe

Amongst The Evergreens

I love seeing "regular" runners tackling EPIC $HIT! If you don't know The Ginger Runner, you will after watching this quick film (it's about 33 minutes long). Ethan documents his first 100-miler, the Cascade Crest Classic. He battled his inner demons, anxiety and physical exhaustion in hopes of achieving something special amongst the evergreens.

Let me be clear, I have NOT seen this movie yet. I've been going back and forth on whether or not I should... If you remember, the hubby and I went to see Patriots Day at the beginning of the year and it nearly crushed me. (You can read my thoughts on the movie and my experience HERE.) With that said, I've heard great things about this one.

What movies have you been loving lately?

I HIGHLY recommend the Stronger book if you haven't read it yet! I bawled but it was a wonderful book!
