Exciting News!
So earlier this week I joined the iPhone Club! How exciting, huh?!
Ryan’s dad was upgrading to the iPhone 5, so he sent Ryan his old iPhone 4S, and then I was able to get Ryan’s old iPhone 4. (A big chain of hand-me-downs, hehe, which I am NOT complaining about).
I guess in the past I could never justify the extra expenses, but I thought it over and I decided I could ‘treat’ myself to something nice. I’m not really sure what was preventing me in the past. I don’t know if it is because I didn’t want to spend the money, didn’t think I “”needed”” it, or what. Well, I still don’t “”need”” it, but I did want it.
Ry and I went over to the AT&T store on Monday and got everything set up. I am still trying to get used to everything on the phone (seeing as my old phone really just could call people and text – but the texting you had to hit the 2 button four times for a “C” J).
I have signed up for Instagram and downloaded my Christmas Countdown app J - I mean PRIORITIES! My thoughts are that now that I have a good quality camera within my phone I will be able to take more pictures and document life a little more fully.
Oh yeah, and the funny story about my old phone… I went onto a few websites that will buy back your old electronics, to see if I could get any money for it… All of the sites I went to said ‘recycle only’… I guess I was due for the upgrade J.
Division Champs! Again :)
Tigers Clinch Division
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — There could have been some infighting when the Detroit Tigers were languishing below .500 midway through the season, or even when they trailed the Chicago White Sox deep into September.
This was the team, after all, that won the AL Central last year, and was only supposed to get better with the signing of Prince Fielder. But the lofty expectations out of spring training had been long forgotten by everyone outside the clubhouse, the season so often close to being written off.
Then the White Sox started to falter, the Tigers finally started to play defense, and all the pieces came together for a joyous ride that ended in a raucous celebration Monday night.
The Tigers, paced by MVP front-runner Miguel Cabrera, beat the Kansas City Royals 6-3 to clinch back-to-back division titles for the first time since the 1934-35 seasons.
“It was a rocky road, it was a tough season, but in this business, you have to be able to take some hits,” Detroit manager Jim Leyland said. “This isn’t a place for the faint-hearted, hell, we took a lot of punches, a lot of them justified, some of them maybe not, but hey, we can take a punch.”
They’re just as likely to come out swinging, too.
Cabrera had four hits on the night, including a homer during a decisive five-run sixth inning, to prop up his chances of becoming the first Triple Crown winner since 1967.
Gerald Laird added a bases-loaded double, Rick Porcello (10-12) pitched shutout ball into the sixth inning and Jhonny Peralta went deep off Bruce Chen (11-14) to give the Tigers a big lead.

Triple Crown!

The Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera became a baseball legend last night: He took the first Triple Crown in 45 years and joined the likes of Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle as the 15th player in history to win it.
The stats that got him the most coveted mantle for a hitter? A .330 batting average, 44 home runs and 139 RBIs. Boston's Carl Yastrzemski was the last player to achieve the feat back in 1967.
The AP reports that once the moment became official at the end of the baseball season, Tigers manager Jim Leyland had tears in his eyes and clubs general manager Dave Dombrowski reminded people to savor the moment.
The AP adds:
"Cabrera had slipped away Wednesday night to the visiting clubhouse at Kauffman Stadium where he waited out the final moments in his bid for the Triple Crown. Once everything transpired, all the other possibilities played out, he could finally revel in the feat."'It was like, everybody said to me it was unbelievable,' said Cabrera, who was joined in the clubhouse by Prince Fielder, Justin Verlanderand a few other teammates. 'They were excited to see this, enjoy this, be a part of something big, and winning, I feel better.'"
Feed Just One - GOAL MET!
Remember when we told you about our goal of selling 450 shirts by 10/31 in order to feed the girls through the rest of 2012?
Well you met it! And almost a month early!
To celebrate we are marking a lot of our older shirts down to just $10 and they will still provide 15 meals each!
And now that we met that goal, it's time for a new one!
It's a big one, but I know we can do it with the holidays coming up.
We want to sell 1,080 shirts by 12/31/12.
This will provide 32,400 meals - enough to feed all 30 girls 3 meals a day for all of 2013!
Once the food is out of the way we can start taking care of other needs for these girls. So excited to share our plans for next year with you. Big things are in the works!
Thank you SO much for your support!

Invisible Children - Move
Online premiere of MOVE
October 1, 2012 by Invisible Children
Our newest film, MOVE, is premiering at KONY2012.com on Sunday, October 7 at 7:00PM PDT.
The film is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the most viral video ever, Invisible Children itself, and the mechanics of a movement to stop one of the world’s worst war criminals. Directed by our chief storyteller Jason Russell, this film challenges a generation to take a stand for international justice. Either you lead or you follow, but everyone will eventually have to MOVE.
Prior to the film’s online release, Jason Russell will appear on Oprah’s Next Chapter in his first on-air interview since March. The interview will air at 9/8c on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
I know, we’re excited too.
P.S. Sharing is caring. #MOVE
