One for One Necklace

Exciting news! TOMS has added a new One for One item – a pendant necklace!

When Friends of TOMS volunteers visited New Orleans in 2008, local jeweler Thomas Mann created pewter parachute pendant necklaces for each volunteer. The shoe and parachute icon has been representing “Shoe Drops” for the past couple years, although TOMS doesn’t literally “drop” shoes – volunteers hand place each pair on children’s feet. The One for One note inscribed on the back of each pendant reminds volunteers of their full-circle commitment to the One for One movement. But now, beyond volunteers, these special pieces are available to all TOMS supporters exclusively on TOMSshoes.com. They will retail at $28 and are sure to be the perfect everyday accessory for the cause-driven and fashionable individual. Just like with t-shirts, a pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need for every necklace sold.

Male Prima Donna

'The Office' Subtle Sexuality Webisode: Watch It Now

Prepare yourselves for the best use of a wind machine, wedding dress, bejeweled eyepatch and gold spandex in recent history. The first episode of 'The Office's' web-based spin-off 'Subtle Sexuality' is now available.

Essentially a thinly-veiled jab at egotistical Ryan, the episode is a music video by Kelly and Erin set to a track called "Male Prima Donna." Keep an eye out for an appearance by Ryan as Mr. Understood and the hilarious Andy as 'Nard Dog.

Polar Bear Cookies

Ryan really likes polar bears. For his birthday I donated money to Oceana to adopt a polar bear. Along with the certificate of adoption he got a cookie cutter. The cookie cutter is in the shape of a polar bear. Ryan asked that I get sugar cookie mixture so that we could make polar bear cookies. Tomorrow we will be taking dessert to small group, so we decided polar bear cookies would be a great option. I grabbed some decorations from the grocery store this afternoon and we are planning on making the cookies tonight. Maybe I will try to take a few pictures of the finished products.

Happy November!! That means it is almost Christmas, whoo hoo!! We have a lot going on in November. This weekend we are decorating for Christmas :). Next weekend the McClurgs are coming in to town for a visit. Then we will be heading to Florida with my parents for a Christmas trip (yes, we realize that it is Thanksgiving, but we wanted to do a trip instead of Christmas gifts and it worked out that we already had a day off for Thanksgiving). A busy, but EXCITING month!! Do you have any fun plans for the month?

Sonic

The new Sonic in Vista was opened today!!

You've probably seen the commercials, but maybe never tasted a burger from Sonic, because the chain is fairly new to San Diego.

The first local drive-in restaurant opened in Santee in April, and now another one has popped up in Vista.
