Sunday, July 30th – 10K run with the hubby
Monday, July 31st – 60 minutes on the stationary bike
Tuesday, August 1st – 7 mile run
Wednesday, August 2nd – 3 mile run
Thursday, August 3rd – 7 mile run
Friday, August 4th – Rest Day
Saturday, August 5th – 3 mile run
Technically Sunday was supposed to be 14 miles, but if you remember last week, the back of my knee was acting up so I actually took Wednesday - Saturday off to let it rest/ heal. With that said, I thought it wouldn't be too smart jumping right back in at 14 and since the hubby had a 10K on his schedule I joined him for that. STOKED to report that the body felt good during that run. The rest of the week I was supposed to have 3 on Tuesday, 7 on Wednesday, 3 on Thursday and 7 on Saturday. I was going to be out of town for a girls weekend Thursday through Sunday, so I decided to do 7 on Tuesday, 3 on Wednesday, 7 on Thursday and 3 on Saturday. The 7 on Tuesday may not look like much with my average pace (since I used to be able to run that speed "easily" in the past), but it was the hardest I had pushed in a while so it felt great (the heat and humidity probably also had something to do with the perceived effort level)! Wednesday's three were around the neighborhood (hills, hills and more hills) which felt fine. Thursday I ran a different route from the house before a work zoom call and forgot how difficult the hill back to the house is, so ended up walking the last half mile or so, but otherwise felt fine. Saturday's 3 miles were toasty in Palm Desert (even running at 8am it was already over 90*), but I got it done before everyone woke up so I could spend the rest of day maxin' and relaxin'. I'm thrilled the body seemed to bounce back after those extra rest days and everything feels close to 100%. Here's to continuing this training cycle happy and healthy!
How were your workouts this past week?
