Day 11 of 12 Days of Carlee's Christmas

Thanks so much for stopping by CarleeMcDot.com today. Whether you've been following along on my journey since I started this blog TEN YEARS AGO or you stopped by for the first time today - WELCOME!

And no matter how long you've been visiting, you picked an AMAZING time to pop in because we're celebrating my #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas {read my post announcing this series HERE if you don't know what I'm talking about}.

Today is Day 11 of my #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas! And the prize today is pretty FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC! Although, to be honest, all of the prizes are AMAZEBALLS! If I could enter my own giveaways I'm pretty sure I would enter each and every one of them in this series because they are just that awesome.

Up for grabs today are: 11 SPIbelts.

Yup, the hubby made a Christmas tree from SPIbelts... How creative is that?!

For today, DAY ELEVEN, eleven winners will be selected, each winning either a regular red SPIbelt, regular lime green SPIbelt, or a large black SPIbelt.

I have been rocking a SPIbelt from races to training, runs to rides. It has come in handy more times than I can count!

"Back in the day" when you wanted to go for a run you'd simply throw on an old pair of tennis shoes and head out the door. To say things have changed may be a bit of an understatement...

I've seen this many times (and don't know where it actually came from, so I'm sorry for not
tagging the original creator) - but every time I LOL a bit ;)

Nowadays we have who's-its and what's-its GALORE! From our phones to our keys, gels and fuels to our IDs and an extra few bucks in case we need to stop for a water on the way, it's hard to get out the door without an extra 3 pounds to carry along for your run. Thankfully SPIbelt has seen this change in trend and brought something to the market for us runners who carry a few thing-a-ma-bobs along with us. SPIbelt itself stands for Small Personal Item Belt.

I wear mine down low around my waist and either in the front or the back

I believe most runners are familiar with belts to carry their gear in, even if they don't use one personally. For non-runners, the easiest way to describe it (and the way I had to explain it to my mom) is a "running fanny pack". I've been known to tie my car keys in my shorts' string, carry my phone in one hand and a water bottle in the other, all while having fuel in my sports bra. You never know what you may need out on a run, and it's always better to be safe than sorry (even if you look like you should have a pack mule along for the trip).

It may look small, but it is MIGHTY! And can fit quite a bit of stuff in it!

Entering this giveaway (along with the other #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas giveaways) is easy-peasy! Simply use the Rafflecopter widget listed below on the giveaway blog post and cross your fingers. Some entries are available daily so I'd HIGHLY recommend entering early and often. (Shoot, I would even go as far as suggesting you set an alarm to remind you to come back to this page every 24 hours so you can take advantage of as many entries as possible!)

a Rafflecopter giveaway
Now, the nitty gritty details... All entries are verified, so please make sure to do whatever the required action for the entry is or it will be disqualified. I would hate for you to miss out on winning due to a technicality, so if you are going to click the option, make sure you do whatever it asks or a new, random winner will be selected in your place.

Also, this giveaway will last seven days, with the winners being picked (and notified) on the eighth day. The winners will have 24 hours to reply to the congratulations email from me to claim their prize. That means, for this giveaway, it will end on December 17th at 11:59pm PST and the ELEVEN winners will be chosen on December 18th.

And, finally, the winners must have a US mailing address. International shipping seems to cost an arm and a leg these days, and customs is a major headache, so to make it easier (and cheaper) on the brands who have offered up their products, the winners must live in United States of America (or at least have an address we can ship to within the US).

With that said, BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERS! And don't forget to stop back tomorrow to see what is up next in my #12DaysOfCarleesChristmas (I promise you do NOT want to miss out on any of these giveaways!)!

I use an armband for my phone; zipper pockets for ID & key. This hasn't been cutting it, though, so I have very recently started looking into belts. So this is a timely giveaway!

It's depends on the season. During the summer months I'm normally running with a sparkle skirt and use the built in pockets to carry my phone and extra energy sources. During longer runs I put most of my items in my Nathan handheld. I normally don't carry my phone when I run so everything fits in there. During races I use a combination of handheld and spi belt.

Unknown said...

I usually use the small zip pocket on my hydration bottle, but I don't always have that with me. I've been thinking about a belt like this for awhile now!

Unknown said...

I stick everything in my water bottle pocket. I don't run with my phone so it's usually my key and a gel.

FireRunner2379 said...

I'm a minimalist, but every once in awhile I need to carry my phone because the kids are home alone. Normally, it gets stuffed in that small pocket of my running shorts. My wife carries a phone and some sort of music/podcast player.

Alisha said...

Usually just my garmin, and a water bottle but for long runs or ones away from home this belt would be nice for fuel and keys!

Jennifer said...

I wear Sparkle Skirts when I run longer distances, so I keep my stuff on the pockets (basically their biggest selling point with me). Short distances I try not to carry anything, but I do (embarrassingly) keep my phone in a ziploc bag in my sportsbra. No, I've never had any chafing issues and long as I use the crappy store brands and not real Ziplocs (their zipper is studier and pointier).

Unknown said...

This would be helpful. During NYCM I carried everything in my bra 🙈

Usually a pockeT on a jacket or vest.

Rach_Runs_RVA said...

Love my SPIbelt so much! Changed running for me. But I recently just broke it!!! I'd loveee to have another.

Daisy said...

I use the pocket on my water bottle and or my armband (I'm a solo runner most times and can't seem to leave my way of communicating behind) but it's not always comfortable in the armband and some days I don't carry the water bottle....

Mommarunsthecape said...

I use a cheapo belt from Walmart when I do need a belt. I usually only need somewhere to put my phone.

livinglovingrunner said...

I love a good running belt 😀

Unknown said...

I would love to try this. I've been using flipbelt and I'm not really liking it.

Kristen M. said...

I sometimes run with two belts. One for my phone, gels, or anything I might need during my run. The other is for ID, cash, keys, and anything else that I want to stay zipped up.

Katie said...

I LOVE my SPI belt! I usually have my phone & car key. On Boot camp workout days when I'm leading I put my cheat sheet in it too.

I've had keys fall out of jacket pockets... I like how secure the SPI belt is. I also have one of their small water bottles that clips right on.

Marcheta said...

I've been wanting to try a running belt but wasn't sure about them. EVERYBODY has an opinion. Lol

InTheKeyOfJ said...

I use a SPIBelt and I LOVE IT! Which is why I'm entering the giveaway. I usually have my phone and either my work badge if I'm at work or my house keys if I'm running from home. Though I have managed to fit my phone, two gels, salt tabs, keys, Biofreeze, a 5 Hour Energy, and a wallet all at once before.

Mark Posey said...

I normally carry my key and phone in the pocket of my running shorts but if I have more than that I use my SPIbelt. It works great.

Jen said...

I usually stuff everything into the zip pocket in my skirt or leggings but I would love to try a SPIelt!

Unknown said...

Hi! I usually have my Camelback Circut vest. It can hold up 1.5L of fluids and has enough pockets on the front that I can put my cell phone, house key, GU gel or Clif blocks, Cliff bar, and a zipper to put money, ID and chapstick. Seems a lot huh? But I love it! Especially on long runs.

MVB said...

I use a belt that I don't love for runs that don't require carrying water, and I use a hydration vest for long trail runs.

Tracieg803 said...

I remember when I first started running and just could head out the door with shorts and any old tshirt ~ now I need all the things

Misti said...

I use a flip belt unless I have my sparkleskirt on then I use the pockets

I just got my first spibelt last week and ran with it for the first time yesterday. I freakin love it. I use to have a flipbelt but I really hate that thing. It was such a pain to get my phone in and out of it and it caused my shorts to constantly ride up... I would love to win this for my husband.

MollyKingsley said...

I usually carry things in my hydration belt or in pockets!

Tessa said...

I wear an arm band for my phone but have to hide my keys.

Coach Kyle said...

I ran with a SPI Belt today! I used to be all about arm bands, but once you use a belt I don't think you'll ever go back to an arm band.

Jessica said...

I use a flip belt, but i have lost fav lip balms with it unfortunately.
I run with my keys, lip balm, phone. There's a race that also requires running with your passport, and some need cash and id for post race shindig...

Brandt's Brain said...

Ran a 5K today with my SPIbelt. Modified the zipper pull so I can access it with gloves on, but otherwise LOVE it! Excited to eventually try the large and/or endurance models with the gel loops.

Jessica M said...

Love my SPIbelt, been wanting to get another.

Edye Nicole said...

I put things in my pockets. I carry my iPod, headphones, lip balm, and water.

I use the pockets on my runningskrts.com skirt

Kylee King said...

I usually push a stroller while running so I use the compartments for my stuff like water, phone, etc. however when I'm running solo I either use pockets or I have a belt running fanny back but I haven't loved it but I do want to try a new brand. The stretch abilities look awesome. Really I just carry my phone and keys.

Coach Henness said...

Ok this might sound crazy but when I'm running like a 5k or less, sometimes I'll just hold my phone. Other times I have a jacket pocket. Or my Inknburn tights pocket. OR...if really necessary there is an arm band I can wear. Needless to say...I don't really have a system or a plan. lol

Breanna S. said...

It depends on how far I am going and where I am running. I have a flip belt that I use for mid distance runs and some long runs. I also have a hydration pack that I use in the summer that carries all of my goodies. For short runs I don't carry anything.

Unknown said...

I haven't used a belt I'd like to try them though

KookyRunner said...

I currently use a SpiBelt and love it. When I use it, it normally hold my cell phone, lip gloss and gel.

Unknown said...

I use a running belt all the time.

Unknown said...

I used a running belt turned best but use my belt for short runs.

dd said...

I usually use all my pockets and have a sleeveless vest if it's not as cold. I also have an Armpocket for my phone and if I really need storage, a running belt too. The small one I use doesn't hold that much. I don't tend to carry food with me, so that helps.

caroline said...

I usually just carry them in my hands or pockets

ahotsouthernmess said...

I try to limit everything to my pockets for runs, but I love a belt for hiking!

KV H said...

I use pockets.

Unknown said...

I have three options - 1) Saucony bullet shorts and capris -the pockets hold everything I need. 2) Flip Belt 3) Spi Belt. Just depends on what kind of a mood I'm in as to which option I select for a run.

I love my spibelt. I'd like a new colorful replacement.

Julie said...

I put things in my pant pockets. However, it can be a pain, since it's just above my rear end!

AshleyLauren said...

This is my first time stopping by your page and I think it's great! Such a sweet gesture to have 12 days of giveaways! I currently don't carry anything with me when I run. If I'm at the park I'll stuff my keys in my sports bra and keep my water in the car until I'm finished my run. Would be great to win the spibelt to have another option!

Corrina said...

I've had a spi belt for a few years now and I love it---I love some of the new designs they've come out with.

I haven't tried a running belt yet, but would love to! Phones aren't getting any smaller, ya know?! ;)

Michelle said...

I always have my phone to keep runkeeper going...and I have to have music!!! I am a huge fan of my spibelt, but it's hard for me to put my phone in there...I take too many pictures!

Unknown said...

I usually use an armband or borrow my boyfriend's belt. The armband gets way too heavy for me.

Jolene said...

I have a flip belt for my phone and ipod.

Barb said...

I walk everyday and I was lazy and skipped yesterday. So I guess since I walked longer today I beat yesterday. I love this watch. I'm legally blind so looking for one like this that is digital and larger disply.

Barb said...

I am just a walker but this would still be very handy to have. Plus I like all the bright colors they have.

Stephanie S said...

Longer Runs I use a spibelt. Shorter runs I am able to fit in zippers on my pants or shorts.

Stacey said...

I always have my spibelt on. I usually split my "gear" between my spibelt and in my Orange Mud harness.

Unknown said...

Right now I am using The tube and love it :)

Unknown said...

I've been running for 5 years now. For the first few years, I would tie my car key to my left shoe like my high school coach used to and hold a small water bottle in my left hand. I didn't know and or understand the importance of fueling while you're out on longer runs. I would just take a bigger water bottle. A spibelt would be so helpful to carry my car key, ID, and any fuel packets I would need while I'm training for a half marathon.

Brian DePersis said...

Unfortunately, my pocket! phone, keys

Unknown said...

I'm definitely a belt fan. I've tried armbands but I don't like the extra weight on my arm.

I have a Fitletic belt, but my mom LOVES her spibelt and I'd love to try!

Unknown said...

I usually wear an armband for my phone and car/house key for longer runs, but for shorter runs I just listen to the music on my Polar watch and stow my key in my pocket.

Jenny said...

I have a belt now. It came with race registration for a half I ran last year! I need a new one, though. It's getting pretty stretched out!

Unknown said...

I carry stuff in pockets if I have them or a running belt if I don't.

William Hinton said...

I don't leave home without my SPIbelt for longer runs! Really helpful having live track on my Garmin while my phone is tucked away back there!

Sarah White said...

I usually carry my phone and my car key in my hand! This belt would be super helpful! Love it!

melissa said...

I load up the pockets on my Orange Mud pack.

Unknown said...

In my ultimatedirection pack! And sometimes I wear my SPIbelt or FlipBelt!

Worth C. said...

I don't normally run with a lot of things, though I have needed to on occasion and probably would run with more if I had an easy way to carry. When I do, I just use my pockets (some zip, some don't) and my hands (phone; handheld, which has a pocket).

Unknown said...

I recently transitioned from my arm band to a flipbelt. I love that I can wear it around my waist and not have to worry about it sliding down my arm. I typically carry my house/car key, cell phone and fuel. The only downfall of my flipbelt is that the pockets do not zip shut so I am always afraid I am going to loose my keys or fuel.

Kaylabee said...

I use a SpiBelt, but I recently bought a Nathan brand belt; it's wider and holds a little more, since I have a large phone that I never run without. So for my marathon, I was able to carry my phone and all my Gus. :)

Sun said...

I usually don't carry anything with me when I run. If I do, I usually just carry things in a small ziplock bag that I carry. Not very efficient :(

Unknown said...

Love my spibelt - if I win I'll re-gift to my sister just got back into running.

Unknown said...

I have an old no-name running belt that the elastic is so stretched out it no longer stays put... I really need to order a new one!

Carolyn S said...

I leave most things at home but sometimes you can't leave your phone, music, and keys at home. I have tied my car key to my shoe lace. I have ruined multiple iPhones because I hold them in my sweaty hands during long runs. Please select me for a belt, I need this!

Sarah Welch said...

My phone stays in my hand, my credit card and key fob go in my Handful bra (I put it in the hole where the pads go in!) It works for me!!! This would probably be better :)

Unknown said...

I use a SPI Belt but don't have any of the colors you're offering :D

I'm entering to win for my husband who is training for a spartan race! He usually just brings his phone and a key. This would be perfect for the longer runs!

Unknown said...

I'm STILL figuring out the perfect way to carry all my things! Every single belt I try always slides up to my waist. I'm currently using a combination of a handheld and a flip belt.

Amanda Williams said...

I've used belts or sparkle skirts to make sure my phone and snacks are me at all times during a run! =)

Unknown said...

I normally use a flipbelt to carry my phone, my chews, and my keys. I also run with a water bottle.

Unknown said...

I usually wear a hydration belt, with chews, phone and tissue. I love that many compression shorts also have pockets now too.

gowafflego said...

On my runs I usually don't carry a whole lot. Usually a gel I stuff into my zipper pocket of my shorts. The phone though is what is problematic. I sometimes stuff it in my bra that has pockets but for possible cancer risk reasons I've been trying to find a different way to use it.

Cassie said...

I have an SPI belt, and also another belt that I don't remember the name of.

cgraikowski said...

I only carry a key when I go for a run. I used to listen to my ipod, but I am scared of running through the city without being about to hear my surroundings. I carry the key in my bra usually.

Melanie W said...

love these belts!

I usually use Roo Sports pouches and iFitness - but would love to try Spi belts!

I just dont care anything on me!

Juliana said...

i try not to carry much but my keys. I have a small pouch take with me on short runs

Mir said...

I've got bigger arms and an armband doesn't usually cut it for me. I usually have to carry my phone and keys in my hand, looping a keyring around one of my fingers. Now that I've got a running jacket I can throw it in a pocket and zip it up, but I realize neither of those are the best of ideas. A SPIbelt would be so wonderful!
