Story Time with Carlee

I remember a few weeks ago, when this whole quarantine thing rolled out, there were some teachers and parents asking if folks would take a few minutes to read a book or two to their wee ones. Well, when the hubby and I were walking Walt the other night we came across one of our little, free libraries and there was a box set of 12 Little Golden Books. I snagged it and thought I would offer up my story reading services to your kiddos. Below are the twelve books read by yours truly.

I hope these videos find you healthy, happy, safe and sane. I realize I don't have a future in reading children's stories (although I am looking for a new day job since getting laid off from the running store a couple weeks ago), but I figured I'd spread a little extra love and joy, especially during these difficult, uncertain times, and do what I can with what I have.

WARNING: I'm NOT a vlogger (nor do I play on on TV) so the videos don't have any cool graphics, background music or fun editing added into the mix... in fact, they aren't edited at all (so please ignore the awkward pauses I thought I might be talented enough to remove, the pup barking in the background, etc), but hopefully what matters to the kids is the story ;)

The Shy Little Kitten

Tawny Scrawny Lion

The Sailor Dog

Scuffy the Tugboat

Home for a Bunny

The New Baby

Tootle

Kitty's New Doll

Rapunzel

The Elves and The Shoemaker

The Three Bears

The Poky Little Puppy

Here's to hoping you found these fun, helpful and enjoyable. Had you heard any or all of them before? I think the only ones that were familiar to be were The Three Bears (aka Goldilocks) and Rapunzel. It's crazy that some of them were originally written in the 1940s! Did you have a favorite? I think my favorite was The Elves and The Shoemaker.

What is your favorite childhood book?
