Global No Pants Day

Global No Pants Day

SAN DIEGO - Some San Diego residents decided to ride the trolley while wearing no pants Sunday.

Actually, it wasn't their idea alone.

No Pants Day began in 2002 in New York. And now it has gone world-wide.

This year, hundreds of New Yorkers spent Sunday afternoon riding the subways in boxers, briefs and lacy panties during the ninth annual No Pants Subway Ride, despite chilly weather.

The stunt was organized by the group Improv Everywhere, a group that says its mission is to cause "scenes of chaos and joy in public places." Participants met up at six locations around the city and got their half-naked marching orders.
