A team from OTB has recently returned from their initial trip to Medellin, Colombia. The purpose of the trip was to do a feasibility study of the area in order to determine if the area would benefit from an Outside the Bowl Super Kitchen.
It was a busy three days full of meetings, presentations, and more than a few tours of the city and some of the surrounding area. Medellin is a busy and very modern city of over 3.5 million people. However, according to a recent report by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), nearly 30 % or over 1 million live in severe poverty. The OTB team had a chance to visit some of the most impoverished areas of the city and meet some of the people struggling to survive there.
The video below will give you just a glimpse into Medellin.
