Workout Recap - Week 47

Sunday, November 17th  8 mile run

Monday, November 18th –  60 minutes on the stationary bike

Tuesday, November 19th – 3.11 mile run

Wednesday, November 20th – 30 minutes on the stationary bike

Thursday, November 21st – 3.8 mile lunch run (for my brother's 38 birthday)

Friday, November 22nd  Rest day

Saturday, November 23rd – 26.62 mile hike

A friend of ours decided that he wants to try and section hike (meaning chunks at a time, but doesn't have to be in any specific order as long as he covers the entirety) the Pacific Crest Trail before he retires. He asked us if we wanted to join him for the first 50 miles and of course we said YES! The game plan was to hike from the Mexico border to Campo on Saturday and then Campo to Mount Laguna on Sunday (25 miles each day), but after Saturday's hike he decided that might have been a little optimistic and since we were just along for the ride we were okay with only a single marathon day of hiking over the weekend ;) Other than my workouts throughout the week (which I was able to get all of them in), technically I was supposed to have 5 miles of running on Saturday and 9 on Sunday (in next week's workout recap), but I'm going to consider 25 miles of hiking (almost 9 hours on our feet) good to cover the weekend's worth of runs, hehe.

Walt Wednesday

Some people do a "Wordless Wednesday" post, where they simply share a photo or image, but I thought I'd make a little series out of my Wednesdays. And since I love alliteration so much, why not go with Walt Wednesdays (obviously everyone can use a little break from the seriousness, scariness and sassiness of life - and what better way to help put a smile on your face than with a cute wiener dog picture, am I right?!)... So, without further ado...

Monday, November 11th –  60 minutes on the stationary bike

Tuesday, November 12th – 3 mile lunch run

Wednesday, November 13th – 40 minutes on the stationary bike

Thursday, November 14th – 3 mile lunch run

Friday, November 15th  Rest day

Saturday, November 16th – 5 mile run

I guess you can say this was the first official week of my LA Marathon training cycle/ plan. I'm still not even registered for the race, but I'm at least following a plan. I got in all of the workouts (even though my tummy may have been angry with me during my lunch run on Thursday) and I'm stoked to be getting back to longer runs. And even though I might not be registered for the marathon, I am already signed up for the Rose Bowl Half Marathon in January - thanks to ASICS (it just so happened to fit into my training plan for LA and I was offered a comped entry from our rep - kismet!). WE GOT THIS!

Workout Recap - Week 45

Sunday, November 3rd  60 minutes on the stationary bike

Monday, November 4th –  Rest day

Tuesday, November 5th – 4 mile lunch run

Wednesday, November 6th – 60 minutes on the stationary bike

Thursday, November 7th – Rest day

Friday, November 8th  4 mile run

Saturday, November 9th – 60 minutes on the stationary bike

I'm sure all y'all know by now that I work at a running store (wowser, it's almost been 5 years at this point). With that said, some of the brands I work with will sometimes gift/ comp us things for being great partners. Once such brand is ASICS. They have offered a few different race entries - one of which is for the LA Marathon in March. I have tackled LA numerous times (it was actually the final race I did before the world shut down with COVID 19), but never with the new course. I have put my name in the hat for an entry, which means I need to legit start training ;) This was my last week of doing whatever floated my boat, but now it's time to actually follow the plan I wrote out. (FYI - I am not shooting to break a world record, but I'd love to get back into the 'I can run 26.2 miles without having to start from ground zero' shape again :))

Workout Recap - Week 44

Sunday, October 27th  6 mile run

Monday, October 28th –  60 minutes on the stationary bike

Tuesday, October 29th – 4 mile lunch run

Wednesday, October 30th – 3 mile Halloween decoration run with the hubby

Thursday, October 31st – Rest day

Friday, November 1st  60 minutes on the stationary bike

Saturday, November 2nd – 4 miles of hiking in Idyllwild with the hubby (and pup)

A more active week than last week, so I'll take it ;) Three runs (13 miles), 2 bikes (2 hours) and a few hikes at altitude, not too shabby! There's even a chance I might start training for a race or two (a half marathon in January and a full marathon in March, depending on the logistics of bib pick-ups), so I guess I'll have to start following a plan sooner rather than later.
