This was my first official training week for the marathon I registered for in January (yep, I pulled the plug on Wednesday and paid my registration fee, so you better believe I'm doing it ;)). The mileage is a little lower than I had been doing, but I'm sure my legs will appreciate it when my long runs start inching up higher and higher. I decided on the shorter days [on Mondays] I'll do hill repeats (seeing as it's a trail marathon and adding in vert should definitely be part of the training). Otherwise most of my runs will probably be on the roads (but that's normally how I train/ run and the race isn't super technical, so I'm sure it'll be okay). I swapped my rest day on Friday to Saturday because a friend of mine was running in a cross country invitational near LA and I went up to watch, but otherwise everything was by the book and smooth sailing.
How were your workouts this past week?

Congratulations on your first official marathon training week! The mix of a 10.10 mile run, hill repeats, and a well-earned rest day sounds like a really balanced start. I especially liked how consistent the mileage was across the week. Wishing you a strong build-up toward the January marathon!
