Fairy Flights

The weather was sort of breezy and overcast this afternoon, so instead of a beach day we hung out on the porch and ran some errands. While we were on the porch the fairies were in full flight. We didn't have the big camera out, so I taped a few of their flights with the app Ryan has on his iPhone that mocks an 8mm camera.

Cruisin' Grand

Last night we met up with some friends and hit up Cruisin' Grand in Escondido. ""On Friday nights a time warp hits downtown Escondido! The streets are filled with strolling people of all ages, while a parade of pre-1970s vintage cars slowly cruise up and down Grand Avenue. All kinds of vintage cars—from American Hot Rods, Classics, Antiques, and Customs—help make seven blocks of Escondido the place to be on Friday nights!"" We grabbed food, saw some cool cars, and a lot of crazies, and finished the night up with doughnuts. All in all, I would say it was a very successful night! :) We didn't take many pictures, but here are the few Ry caught on his iPhone:

Ruggedwoodsman

I am trying to help get Ryan's art out there for him. We made him an artist Facebook page, he has a Tumblr blog, he has recently joined Twitter (although I am not sure if he knows how to use it, hehe), and he is planning on getting his Etsy shop up and running soon. Anyway, I thought I would try another avenue to try and spread the word about my AMAZING hubby's talent --- SO IT IS TIME FOR A GIVEAWAY!!

I was chatting with Ryan earlier today about doing a possible giveaway on his Facebook page soon, which will include a prize of some of his own "Ruggedwoodsman" buttons, but for now, I thought I would offer up some of my SEA GLASS PENDANTS as a prize. The winner will get TWO pendants - one to keep and one to share [green and brown].

Here’s how to enter:

1. Be a follower of his Tumblr.

2. Become a fan of Ruggedwoodsman on Facebook.

3. Share the link to his artist page on Facebook on your Facebook page.

4. Let others know about the giveaway through Facebook or your blog!

Leave a separate comment for each entry by 9pm (Pacific Standard Time) on Wednesday, August 24th. The winner will be announced on Friday the 26th!

The Beatles

For our 3 Year Wedding Anniversary, my padres thought it would be an AWESOME treat to take us to a Cirque Du Soleil show. When my mom asked us about it we thought of the BEATLES show. We have never seen a show like this before, but while we were on the plane coming back from our last trip, we saw the ad in the magazine and thought it would be sweet to see. Okay, the problem was, mom hates the oldies. The majority of what my dad and I listen to is oldies, so for us, The Beatles show was the obvious choice. Mom was less than excited, but since it was for our anniversary she decided she would grin and bear it.

Friday night we got all dolled up and headed to the show. It was AMAZING! Everything was so exciting. We all felt like you could see it 3 or 4 times and still see things for the first time, since there is just so much going on at the same time. And mom didn't hate it, so that has to say something about the talent, especially since ALL of the music was Beatles :) I would definitely recommend it to all, especially if you dig the oldies tunes!

(Sorry about the pictures, they don't allow cameras in the theater, so everything was taken quickly with Ryan's phone, hence the blur)

I found some videos of the show on YouTube (guess people do sneak in their recording devices - BAD PEOPLE :) ):

Wax Museum

Friday morning, after a little family health scare, mom, Ryan and I (dad still had meetings at the convention) went over to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. I was slightly creeped out and didn't really want to go in the beginning, but I am glad we did! We had so much fun posing with the 'celebrities', even if mom thought their hand's were moving sometimes. We took a ton of pictures, but these seem to be the top few highlights:
