Easter Egg Contest

I boiled our eggs today when I got home from work. Ryan and I will be having an Easter Egg Decorating Contest!! Of course!! We always have to have contests :). I will make sure to post the pictures once we finish the contest (to have everyone vote on which they like best). We will be watching the game tonight, so we won't decorate them today, but maybe tomorrow... Check back so that you can place your vote for your favorite :).

Cheering for MSU from Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan State knows it will be representing more than its school when it plays North Carolina in the NCAA championship game Monday night at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Spartans will also be representing a state and region that have been battered by the country's poor economy, climbing unemployment rates and crumbling auto industry.

"There are a lot of cities right now that have problems," Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said. "But this is ours. This is our big city in the state. So that's why I think it's a little more meaningful for those of us that are from around here."

Even in Ann Arbor, where University of Michigan fans only seem to dislike Ohio State more than Michigan State, it seems most of the Wolverines are rooting for the Spartans to beat the Tar Heels on Monday night.

"The first four times Michigan State went to the Final Four, you usually had the crowd here rooting against the Spartans," said Ron Dreslinski of Ann Arbor, who sat at the bar in The Blue Leprechaun on South University Avenue on Sunday. "This is really the first time you have Michigan people rooting for them. I think it's because the game is being played in Detroit. They're kind of the underdog, too, which makes it easier."

Ava Grace

Announcing the arrival of Ava Grace (MY COUSIN STACEY'S SECOND DAUGHTER). She joined us in the outside world on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 at 4:16pm. She weighed in at 7lbs, 5 oz, and 20 1/4 inches long. She is perfect and her big sister Hailey can't love her enough, and is such a big helper. I have attached a few pictures of her and will send more of her and her big sister as they become available.

The Youngs Wedding

Check out our pictures. I know there are a ton of pictures of the ceremony (but I know how much I loved getting pictures from our wedding, so I figured I would take as many as I could for the happy couple). It was quite a long trip (we got in after about 2pm Friday morning and then drove back Saturday, of about 11 hours).

Friday we went out and did 6 geo caches before the wedding. In between those caches we grabbed lunch with Erik and Ben at Eegee's (a Tucson favorite). Then we went to the wedding and saw the happy couple start their married life together. Saturday morning we went over to Sarah's parents house for a little brunch and then hit the road. We took the longer, scenic route home. Ryan was sick though, so it wasn't as fun as we had originally thought it would be. We saw a lot of the back country though. And OF COURSE we had to stop at CARLEE'S to grab a pizza and watch the MSU game.

Rescue Shirts

Ryan and I are waiting for our to arrive in the mail, then we will be sporting them EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF APRIL!!

It’s April! The RESCUE month is upon us, and to celebrate (and represent) we are all wearing our RESCUE pack tshirts for the whole month of April. I’m wearing mine right now, in fact- everyone in the office is wearing theirs. We’re right there with you, and you know it makes for much easier mornings. (Breakfast and I have reunited). So wear your shirts, and if you haven’t gotten yours, it’s not too late to order them, just go to the IC store HERE.

The coolest part about the RESCUE tshirts is that while you go about your day, you will be a walking billboard for the event, it will be your talking piece to invite people to the Rescue. I Heart the LRA is quite a statement, so tell people about it, tell them why you’re spreading the love and why you refuse to change your shirt. It’s a powerful statement.
