Monroe grad drafted by Angels

Monroe High graduate Chad Yinger was chosen in the final rounds of the Major League draft Wednesday.

The 6-8, 225-pound right-handed pitcher was taken by the Los Angeles Angels in the 48th round. He had a 4-0 record at Southern Arkansas this spring.

Yinger was among four Southern Arkansas players drafted this year, including Hayden Simpson, who was taken by the Chicago Cubs in the first round.
