Rough Runs

Source
Easier said than believed...

We all have them... Runs we wish would end (and end IMMEDIATELY). Runs that make you question why you started in the first place and why on earth you would ever continue. Runs where the only thing you can be grateful for is that it is over (and of course that you have the ability to be out there in the first place).

This morning was one of those runs. My legs felt like lead and they just wouldn't move the way I wanted them to. My ankle was feeling a little wonky (I think it has to do with the way I was sitting in my office chair yesterday as well as my fibromyalgia). I couldn't wake up and whatever energy I DID have at 5:30am, the humidity ZAPPED it all gone once I got out of the car.

The humidity just won't go away!

I know, I know, "the bad runs make the good ones feel so much better" and in a couple hours I will probably be able to believe it, but right now it still stings. I will probably be in a funk for a little while, which stinks. I guess the good part is at least I can recognize it (and realize how silly it is), but it still takes me a while to snap out of it.

I guess the breeze was blowing and that is why my skirt looks so crazy...

One positive (it might have been the only one, other than I finished the 6 miles) was God sent me a pod of dolphins to run next to for about half a mile. It was right when I started running down The Strand. My thought was He probably knew if I didn't have something to take my mind off of my run (and how craptastic it was going) then I would probably stop and just walk back to the car. Thanks Jesus!

At least I get these views to soak in along my runs...

Thankfully tomorrow is another day...

What helps you forget a bad run? Do you get in a funk after a bad run?

I don't think you ever forget a bad run... you just move on. Maybe learn something from it...if you can. But Kyle's got the right attitude. There's always another run...
